I was thinking to use macarons for our escort cards:
I’m wondering how I can lay them on our table without getting it crumbly or being unsanitary? I love macarons and we’re also using them on our cake:
Also, we’re serving BBQ and I’m trying to figure out what our favors should be. I feel like anything that is not edible usually does not go over well so I was thinking about doing pralines for everyone’s place setting.
Is that too much sugar? I don’t feel like the macarons are really ‘favors’, but I’m not sure if pralines are too much or if we should go with something else.

@vanessa7: I think you need to buy a large tray (or two or three or how many you need) and line them with parchment paper and place the macarons on top of that. The other option is trays and line the bottom of them with coloured sugar and place the macarons on top of the sugar. The sugar would hide the crumbs even better than the parchment paper.
And as for your favours – you can’t have too much sugar. Especially since people can bring the favour home and eat it later if they don’t want to eat it at the wedding.

@NLbride: That’s a great idea!

What if you put the macaroons in a box and they could double as escort cards and favors?

@BrideAliBean: I do like it when they double!

@BrideAliBean: I think anything edible that cannot be washed like a piece of fruit, should be individually wrapped. I really don’t want to eat something that has potentially been sneezed on, touched etc by someone else.
Macarons are too labor intensive to make and too expensive to buy to be wasted.

I think the macaroons are adorable however they would need to somehow be wrapped.

Love the idea of maccaroons! but I’d be wary of eating anything sitting out. You can order tiny boxes with windows and tie the names to them?

I’m thinking we will box the macarons as escort cards/favors and maybe use pralines for our welcome bags?

I agree with others that I’d prefer to see them wrapped somehow.
