Hello! So for our wedding, we are setting up a huge “candy bar”, and allowing guests to grabs their favorites for the favor. But we just can’t find the right containers to use. I found some long cyclindars at micheals that i love, and would just wrap a cute ribbon around, and its perfect, but they are 4$ each, thats over 400$ just for containers… that’s way to pricey for us….

Check out OrientalTrading.com .. they have lots of different containers in all sorts or colors, and priced good!

@anb23: Have you checked the dollar store or Goodwill?

@aheavel: Ditto. Dollar Tree has cylinder vases (and more) for $1, and they’ll ship to the store for free if you want.

We have HUGE GLASS vases, all different shapes for the candy to sit in…. im looking for containers for the guest to scoop the candy into & take home….
i found the one that i have now on orientaltrading.com but they had horrible reviews.

You can use cello bags or paper bags and have a supply of colored twist ties for guests to close the bags.
You could use favor boxes- takeout boxes are cute.
I think most guests would appreciate something that can be closed rather than an open container like a popcorn box.
Make sure your boxes, bags or any other container are not too large for the amount of candy you are allotting per guest.

What about bags, gable boxes, Chinese take out containers?

I was looking at gable boxes, i like those…. i would prefer something that closes, and with a handle…..
i really love the little “paint can” containers but everyone i find is far to small, or way to expensive.

We’re doing the candy buffet as well. I just bought some 1/2 lb “coffee bags” (the ones with the tin ties to roll down and clasp shut) at the WEBstaurant store. I think they are the perfect size so they wont take too much, yet wont feel deprived of candy. 🙂 and i also got oval address labels and designed them all cute to put on the bags …
i also ordered them sunday, and received them tuesday 🙂

@kaygee_86: Those sound perfect!!
I may just steal your idea!!!
The Mr. is liking the gable boxes, but ill look at those as well.
Isnt a candy bar just so perfect for guest favors?!?
I dont feel like spending a bunch of money on something that will get tossed into a drawer and found years down the road…. so why not something yummy to eat!

I’m planning to use tin tie bags from Paper Mart. They don’t have a handle but they do close and are very affordable.
