I don’t like favors, but if you’re going to do them, make them candy. Laughing

We’re doing mini succulents. Honestly, I have never taken a favor home with the intent to use or keep it.

My cousin did chocolate truffles. Those were my favorite by far. Sooo good!

I really didnt care for engraved champagne flutes. I just left them there.

I liked the idea of some tulip bulbs someone had, but I lived in an apartment so I gave them to my mom.

I also simply like a donation because it does some good amidst all the crazy wedding spending. Its always interesting to see what charity they choose.

Favors just never seem to work out, as a guest at a wedding, I’m content to eat some cake and go home.

I was at a wedding where the bride and groom were really good friends before they started dating. She had asked him to housesit for her when they first actually started dating and he somehow managed to kill her ivy plant while she was away for 2 weeks (I can’t remember now what he did to it). So one of the first gifts he got her was a new ivy plant. She made cuttings and grew little ivy babies from that plant to give to guests in little terracotta pots. I kept that one, and I still have it! It’s growing on my desk at work. I thought it was cute because it’s something that had meaning to the bride and groom and something that actually can be used. I personally am not a fan of candy because really, it gets eaten then the little tag gets thrown out. And I’ve never been to a wedding that’s actually had good candy. Fiance and I are considering doing engraved wine glasses. We both love wine and make it a lot, so it kind of fits with ‘us’. We had considered doing mini bottles of homemade wine, but when we priced it out it ended up being REALLY expensive, and very time consuming, considering we’re having 200+ guests! Even to do one per couple would be a lot. Plus we asked our venue and we wouldn’t be able to bring the wine in, we’d have to somehow get it to guests outside the reception venue.

@Liss13:  Although I didnt mind the wedding I went to with non-engraved shot glasses and little nips. Everyone’s was different so we were trading schnapp’s for burbouns etc. It was kind of fun!

I have gotten a few Jordan almond favors and I am NOT a fan.

Some favors I have gotten and weddings and liked/used: small juice glasses, handmade soap, personalized M&Ms in a little organza bag.

We gave out Hershey’s kisses and lollipops in little bride and groom boxes at ours and people seemed to like them

@futuremrste:  I like candy as a favor, but only if its good candy! I think sometimes its really

old chocolates from the craft store and inedible.

I have taken and used candles, matches, cookies, magnets. I actually really like jordan almonds but have only gotten at one wedding.

@Liss13:  FISH?! O_o is that seriously a really thing? What the hell do you do with a fish when you go home if you don’t have a tank?

We aren’t doing them at all. I think food is the best option. Not the almonds but something most people like. Like chocolate or good lollies.
