For the past 3 months, I had the whole thing worked out…I was going to do a candy buffet and each guest could take a bag full home as their favour. It was perfect since we are expecting roughly 100 people and not all will eat the candy.
So lastnight Fiance explained that he wanted all the guys from his Fire Department to come as well (orgnially we planned to have none come but have a bbq later on for them if there was a fuss) since they are a big part of our lives, which I definatly simpathize on and agree with. Well this morning I sat back and looked at our guest list and after estimating with the Fire Dept. guys plus their SO/Dates and adding a few kids in between..,that is close to 180-200 guests! To me, the bigger the better, but there is no way on earth I’m going to be purchasing enough candy to supply everyone with (do you know how much food let alone candy firefighter will eat??? LOL)
Anyways, I’m now on the lookout for different ideas. My wedding is on my parent’s farm and our colours are ocean blue and purple. I honestly don’t care how much DIY is required with them, as long as they look nice and can be useful 🙂
If you have any ideas please let me know!! Thanks!! 🙂

Wow, I think that is great that you are going to include them. You could still do a candy bar/buffet and just use smaller candy and get smaller bags/boxes for them.
Here is what I am doing:
Maybe it will help you.
- Candy/Cookie Buffet
- Madagascar Vanilla Bean Vanilla Sugar
- Madagascar Vanilla Bean Vodka Vanilla
- Old-Fashioned Crackers; I haven’t figured out what to put in these yet and they are hard to explain, so here is my inspiration link: http://www.oldenglishcrackers.com/make-your-own-crackers.htm
- Classic Games like Tic-Tac-Toe, Jacks, Pick-Up Sticks, etc., for the kids

Well I think you could still do candy but don’t make it a “buffet” go ahead and take the time to creatively package the candy in bags yourself
I really loved this on MarthaStewartWeddings along with the 26 other ides your could look through. =)

I’m not big on the candy-as-favors anyway. I can buy candy in a store. We’re having lip balm made from local beeswax with custom labels. No DIY required and very useful.

hmmm after reading this I’m thinking that the Candy Table (good point on it not being a “buffet” amnystik!) might just be do-able! I’ll have to see when it gets closer to the time of course and see just how many people are showing, especially kids. It’s one thing if I have a couple of my little rugrat cousins (I love them, I swear LOL 😛 ) stealing a handful here and there, but if I have around 20 like I’m expecting then I think I’ll just scratch the idea completely which is why I’m looking for backup ideas.
I thought of doing seedpackets, and eventhough that would fit my theme well, I don’t know if it will be a very big hit…did any of you do seedpackets? How did it go? I also thought of little jars of jam (the more I see them on here, the more I love them LOL) but I have no idea where to start with finding close to 200 of the right jars…other than that I would be set since I make jam all the time 😛
