“Christmas is Coming”- by John Denver and the Muppets.

But a close second is “O Holy Night”.

Carol of the Bells is my ultimate favorite.  The version I tend to love the most is by Kenny Rogers

“Mr. Grinch” is definitely at the top of my favorites but my all time favorite has to be “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas”!! I love how playful and upbeat it is, totally gets me into the holiday spirit!! There are so many others that I love though so that is a tough decision.

traditional – O Holy Night

non-traditional – If I Get Home On Christmas Day by Elvis

other – BNL w/Sarah McLachlan – God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen/We Three Kings mashup

I couldn’t pick just one so I made my own rules

When I was younger, I really liked Angels We Have Heard on High. Now my faves are Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring and Baby, It’s Cold Outside.

I love “Mary’s Boy Child” by Boney M, I don’t know why, but that’s my favorite.

I also love Mariah Carey’s versions of “O Holy Night” and “All I Want for Christmas is You”

ETA: I forgot “Mary Did You Know?” by Kenny Rogers and Wynonna Judd! My mother and I love that song and play it over and over again at Christmas time, it drives my step dad crazy!

It’s also funny that most of my favorite Christmas songs are religion-based, when I’m an atheist, but gosh darnit they’ve got a good beat!
