Favourite Registry Items

I love to cook and I cook, bake and entertain often so my responses are skewed, and some of my longtime favorites are things I wouldn’t have purchased on my own at the time:

1) KitchenAid Mixer  (I’ll soon be upgrading from my longtime trusted 5 quart to an 8–start with a 6 if you bake)

2) All Clad pans. I’ve had a lot of pans, these are my go-to for consistency and longevity.

3) USA bakeware–cake pans, square and rectangular baking pans, loaf pans. I have other brand commercial half sheet pans with racks — great for cookies, bacon, etc.

4) Le Creuset dutch oven and grill pan

5) Good knives

6) Serving platters and bowls. They don’t have to exactly match your china, can be white with a plain silver or gold band or any wonderful, complementary pattern.

7) Really nice towels

8) Really nice sheets

9) China if you’ll use it, or a lot of nice everyday place settings that will serve many purposes. They break, patterns get discontinued, if you think you need eight register for twelve, if you think you need twelve…

10) Nice barware including lots of wine and champagne glasses. They break. You can’t have too many.

11) Decent hemstitched cloth napkins. These can get ruined so I have/use nice but not the fanciest, always white natural blends (cotton/linen) so I can bleach and they iron up nicely.

12) Waterford brocade tablecloths. They wash up incredibly well no matter what people spill on them and barely need an iron.

13) An Instant Pot. I don’t have one, I have a rice cooker and a crock pot. This does both and more.

14.) A Nespresso machine if you love coffee.

Sorry this got so long–I’d rather shop for household items than jewelry and I really do love jewelry.

We received all 43 items off our registry! We’ve lived together a few years but were buying our first house so had room for new items and upgrades.

1. Kitchen stuff like new silverware, glasses, bowls, baking pans

2. New towels

3. Tools/outdoor stuff like a lawn mower, weed wacker, saw, shears, ladder

4. Nightstands

5. A couple misc items like a murder mystery game, sleeping bag, wine rack

I love to cook and bake and was excited to get tools for that. And excited about new bedding (we got awesome sheets and my mom handmade a quilt that we sleep under most of the time)

but for me, my absolute favorite registry gift was my sewing machine.

Extra silverware!  We registered for a full service for 8, and then registered for a second.  Between entertaining, and just our daily lives, we go through a lot of silverwear between dish washer runs.

Basic white china-  as much as I gravitated to dark colors and gold trim, plain crisp white is classic not trendy (won’t tire of it in 5 years), blends seaamlesslessy with any brand of white serving dishes, and looks beautiful with a dressed up table as well as casual everyday.  It will also work regardless of my changing style/dining room decor.

High quality bedding- 2 sets of high threadcount sheets, a soft cotton layering blanket, an overstuffed down comforter and duvet cover for winter, and a lightweight quilt/coverlet for warmer months. We have a queen size bed, but everything other than the sheets are king.

Thick, oversized white (bleachable) towels

A really good complete set of pots and pans

Classic, high quality basics/necessities that you won’t tire of or have to replace for many years!

I registered for a piece of art, I was looking for different registries since I already have all I really need for my home. I have been into decorating my home and there is a cool wedding registry called mishkalo that sells art. Its different so I hope my family gets me that rather than pots and pans.
