Heyyy!

Not too bad, getting back on track, the gym is out for a while because I have to stay with Fiance a lot, but that just means more quality time with my favorite sports-bra-wearing friend Jililan Michaels.  Oh joy.  LOL

I only lost a pound this past week, I’m one pound away from my first WW goal.  I’m cleaning out my kitchen cabinets today, so hopefully the healthy eating will continue!

I’ve hit a wall where I don’t lose but don’t gain.  My coworker said that I need to overeat on good foods to get things started back up.  So maybe I’ll try that.  But no getting discouraged ladies!  We can do it! πŸ™‚

I too have seemed to hit a wall.  St. Patty’s Day/Spring Break was pretty rough for me on the diet last week, drank too much beer and decided I needed a box of thin mints in my life, haha.  So at least I didn’t gain.  So far this week is going better though, got out and walked 5 miles with my Fiance on Sunday, hopefully we will have time to go again this week.  Good luck to all!

I am loving this weather!  I feel like it’s so much easier to lose weight when it’s nice out.  There are so many easy delicious healthy things you can make by throwing them on the grill. Also the fruit is starting to get yummy, I’ve been on a big pineapple kick lately (also yummy on the grill).  And I’m actually motivated to walk (at least until it gets super hot and humid, then I’m done again)

Gah me too.  Although, I ate burger king yesterday.  πŸ™  For the first time in two months, and it was delicious, and I feel fat.

But I’m back on the wagon today, I’m making roasted chicken in the crock pot, it’s been on for hours and it smells awesome, with mashed potatoes and stuffing (yuck, but Fiance loves it) for dinner tonight, and then I gotta work.  I’m going to be all out of whack again this week, cuz I’m working nights.

Ok, rant over, I hope everyone has a good day!  We all need to keep motivated!

Anyone have any good healthy recipes to share?

What is your favorite quick workout that makes you feel like you accomplished something?

I like this chicken and shrimp kabob recipe, I’ve posted it elsewhere on here but here it is again.  I was kind of worried about the marinade so I measured it one time after I pulled the kabobs out to see how much was absorbed and it really was not much at all.

I also really like this cole slaw, simple and easy to tweak by using fat free sour cream and Hellman’s Light mayo.  I also like adding diced jalepenos to give it a kick.

Has anyone tried tracking their calories through livestrong/daily plate?  I knew they had a lot of nutrition information but didn’t realize they would give you a goal number of calories, protein, carbs, fiber, etc.  I decided to give that a whirl and cancel my weightwatchers membership to save some $$.  So far I have noticed that it says I should eat less than WW, so maybe that will help give my weight loss a jumpstart.  I feel like I’ve stalled out.

@bestbuddies: No problem!  I usually just get the bag of cole slaw from the grocery with the pre cut cabbage and carrots.  I think it ends up being more than the recipe calls for but I don’t like it very creamy anyway.

Thank goodness fruits and vegetables are free….week three weigh in for a loss of two more pounds…total of nine down. Hmmm, the trick will be to see if I can lose another thirty by the wedding…it will be tough. I will be happy with whatever I get off but I just want to see if it is possible….I made the decision to stop being in school after my residency next week until two weeks after the wedding. Mr. FM and I discussed it and we decided it would be nice to not worry about school while planning our wedding and buying our first house. We want to workout in the evenings to get our weight down and it is hard being attached to the computer for hours on end for school work. So after April 11th I will be school free for the first time in two and almost a half years straight. I hope this translate into more free time to workout and be active.

Anyone else have something they must do which has been keeping them from getting the time to workout?

Ms Medic…food sounds nummy, can I come over for dinner? Best workout for me is getting in to the pool for water aerobics at the Y. Afterwards I feel all tingly and really good. I am hopeful I will be back there soon.

@bestbuddies:What are your “cheats” on Weight Watchers? I am curious because I am having (always have) trouble with carbs but with the new points plus it’s different. I could sit and eat a whole bag of chips without noticing but put carrots or strawberries or a crunchy apple in front of me and my body stops. I can eat as much as I want but the body stops; not from feeling unsatisfied but because I’m full.

For me, the key is being keeping salad, low points soup (hence the Olive Garden trips) and lots of fresh fruit and veg around, ready to eat. Easier said than done, I completely get it but for now I think it is working.

I must confess, I would love to experience this total melt down of weight you describe before your wedding; for me, I am afraid it will be the pack on so I’ve got to do something. After we get back from residency, we will be hitting the gym in ernest and last night Mr. FM said he was going to do an olympic lenght tri this summer. This means he can’t just go and do it like the other tris he does; he will be training too. I am hoping this will help him see some scale action as well. We both are round and rolly so we need all the help we can get. πŸ™‚

Have a successful Saturday everyone; get out and shake a leg, clean like mad women or ohm out with some yoga…just be actice and east your fruits/ veg.***

***Lecture aside, have a terrific day and track. πŸ™‚
