So… after his long-time girlfriend dumped my Future Brother-In-Law in an intensely horrible way. (I.E. Moves to texas and has her brand new fiance yell at him over the phone…), he’s back to dating now. I haven’t met his girlfriend, but some of the family has. Nobody is pressuring me to, or has even really suggested it to me, but should I talk to him and invite her?

@bonsai_spork: I would. A wedding alone might be tough for him after all that. The girlfriend doesn’t have to be in family pictures, but she should be invited.

If you have the room and the budget for it, I think it would be nice for him to have a date seeing as he’s your fiance’s brother. Now if it was a cousin or something, different story. I think it would be a nice gesture. However, I don’t think it’s necessary to send her a formal invite if you don’t want to.

Yeah, I’m leaning in that direction too, just a little worried because we’re getting rather close to the day, I’ll talk to his mum

Yes, I would. It is a good way to meet her and make her feel welcomed into the family.
