I’ve been a cooking machine! I got to break in all of my fancy new bridal shower gifts this week by making Future Brother-In-Law & Future Sister-In-Law food for after the babe is born (which will hopefully be tomorrow – she’s starting induction tonight!). Fiance opened the freezer and saw that it was jam packed with frozen dinners and now he thinks I’m a little nutso. What can I say? When I do something, I do it big! lol
Anyways, so far I’ve made…
- “Special Delivery Chicken”
- Chicken Enchiladas
- Chicken Parmesan
- My homemade Vodka Sauce, which is one of FBIL’s favs (I picked up a box of penne and a loaf of garlic bread to go with it)
- 1 dozen blueberry muffins
- 2 dozen chocolate chip mini muffins
Hope they’re in the mood for chicken, lol.
I’m not planning on making anything else but do you think I’ve gone totally overboard?

Maybe a little bit on the chicken, I know for myself that much chicken I would be sick of chicken. Is there a way you could maybe make differ dishes that doesn’t include chicken?

Um, when I get pregnant, will you make me a post-baby nourishment kit? I don’t think you’ve gone overboard – especially since everything can be frozen! But I also don’t think you need to make any more (or Future Sister-In-Law will never lose that baby weight!).

I agree that they might be tired of eating chicken, but everything sounds great and will probably feed them for a while!

You are such a sweet, sweet person. You could give me 2 months of straight chicken and I would still be grateful. What a thoughtful gesture.

Oh my gosh. You are awesome!! I want to eat everything that you made, except maybe the blueberry muffins because I don’t like spiders (haha, I just read one of your earlier posts!)
I think that is perfect. And I love how you bought the frozen dinners! haha

No I don’t think so at all. It really isn’t too much. Think it’s about 4 dinners. and the muffins are great for breaky and snacks. It’ll come in handy, and be gone in no time. They will surely appreciate it.

That’s so sweet! Even though the dishes are mainly chicken, they can be spaced out and they all sound delicious! You are too sweet! Can I PM you my address in 3 or 4 years ;0)

You know what if they are frozen dinners you aren’t forcing them to eat all of those dinners in a week. If they get sick of chicken they can choose to order in or someone else can cook a dinner for them. I would be very greatful that someone made me such easy meals to heat up and I wouldn’t care what they were. Your an awesome Future Sister-In-Law and I’m sure they will appreciate the extra help. Your totally NOT nuts.

I have a feeling you go overboard in everything. LOL
Having said that, I know they will appreciate all your cooking. There’s no law that says they have to eat all the chicken dinners in a row.

@Sassygrn: Nope, lol. I’m done cooking for ’em. 🙂 The way I see it, they can spread the meals out. I’m sure my Future Mother-In-Law will be making some dishes too so here’s to hoping hers don’t involve chicken, lol.
@Goldilocks1107: Oh, I’m tooootally done cooking. They could easily make my kit last a good week! When our friends had their daughter last year I made them the enchiladas & the special delivery chicken and they said they had enough in each for 2 nights worth of dinner.

@UpstateCait: ps did you see Ryansgirl’s post on the mailbox she got today? I thought of your search for a cardbox when I saw it.

@julies1949: You’ve noticed that? lol I’m totally guilty of going overboard in just about everything I do.
@MlleBrielle: They shall never know of the “spiderberry”! lol
Seriously, I can’t even close my freezer. I could have probably sprung for the more expensive, more condensed containers but I’m far too cheap!
It actually worked out pretty good though. For every meal I made them, I made the same thing for us so we had some frozen dinners last week, too. I just made the chicken parm tonight and let me tell ya, it was tasty!

@julies1949: Just saw it. L-O-V-E!

I would be rather overwhelmed if my SIL did that (not that she ever would since she’s a spaz) and it’s a bit overboard on the chicken but I’m sure they will appreciate it.
