@UpstateCait: HELL NO! And thank you for starting this post. I’ve been wondering for the life of me why NBC would even dare to ressurect this trash. It was on several years ago, and I enjoyed what I thought was its cancellation because it’s just that vile in my opinion.

I’m glad I’m not the only person that thinks this show is just stultifyingly egregious.

@UpstateCait: I didn’t realize this show was still on.  I watched on episode when it first came out and I thought it was gross so I stopped watching it.  I don’t understand how it still has the ratings to keep going?!

Ha! I would do it … for FREE! I am obviously uber trashy!

I love games, challenges, and dares. I would totally sign up to compete. The grossness factor would be part of the fun for me.

Haha, my Fiance and I are addicted to this show. However, hell to the no would I EVER do any of that. The girl shaving her head is crazy with a capital C.

There’s NO amount of money that would get me to eat organs, swim in blood, be submerged by live snakes or shave my head (I lost my hair once not by choice so no thank you to that one). The physical challenges are fine and I’m pretty competitive so that might be worth it but the other stuff that goes with it, no way Jose!!!

I heard once that they don’t make the participants eat anything that someone around the world somewhere doesn’t eat. I’m sorry, just because it’s normal to eat live cockroaches on another continent, it’s not normal for me.

I would need a guaranteed 50 mil to eat a live hissing cockroach. Like … it would have to be in my bank account already, new house purchased reno’d furnished and decorated, and me driving to the show to tape it in my brand new car sporting a brand new wardrobe and all kinds of bling kind of guaranteed.

Okay … okay … I might do it for one mil. But no less. A girl hasta have a limit ya know 😉

Otherwise – people are just NUTS!!!

I can’t eat gross things for any amount of money so I would be a terrible contestant in that respect, but a lot of the adventure parts look like a big thrill and really fun.

Worse is they have a theme park version at universal studios that we watched, and some guy ate chopped up bugs, and rotten fish and one of those partially develped eggs all blended into a smoothie for…. a mug.

I have always enjoyed watching this show. I love it. My husband and I had a conversation about it, and I could participate, but depending on the challenge, I may or may not be able to go through with it. 50k is alot to some people, and not alot to others, so doing it for that amount is all relative to what their needs are, and what their yearly income is to begin with.

I just don’t get it either.  There is no way I’d do any of that crap, and I don’t have any desire to watch other people do it either.

While I wouldn’t choose to do it, I don’t think it is nearly as bad as all of you PPs seem to.  My gag reflex would keep me from eating most of the stuff but I could handle being covered in snakes and the adventure challenges look awesome.

Survivor often has challeges where the contestants eat something gross (usually a “shake” of several nasty things blended together).  I’ve seen both Big Brother and Amazing Race have gross eating challenges too.

The contestants know what they are getting themselves into. 🙂

Oh – and people who are saying the it is so unnatural to eat organs (at least for people in the US) …

Sweetbreads (Thymus and Pancreas) and Tripe (Stomach) are common menu items at nice restaurants.  Bone Marrow would also fall in a similar category.

Many people also eat the giblets from their Thanksgiving turkeys which include the neck, gizzard, heart, and liver.
