I’m new to this site and wanted some opinions. I am a pretty traditional bride. I tend to favor ivory dresses. However, I tried on this Allure gown in “champagne” and fell in love. The photo is a hint darker than how it looks in person. I was considering ordering it in ivory, but I’m worried that the scalloped lace edge will get lost. All my friends and family (surprisingly) loved the champagne color, too. I guess I’m torn. I’m not sure if the dress will look just as beautiful if I order it in ivory, and if I order champagne, will I look back years from now and regret not wearing a “whiter” color since my wedding day is the one day to wear a poufy, white/ivory dress. I know blush, champagne, and other pastels are becoming more and more common, and I think they’re beautiful. I just wasn’t expecting to wear one myself. Thoughts?

The champagne dress is very lovely. I do think the lace will not be as visible once layered ontop of ivory.

The lace probably won’t be as visible on ivory but it won’t be invisible either. I tried on my dress in champagne as well but I ended up ordering an ivory because I wanted a more subtle look with the lace.
This isn’t your dress but it’s a similar Allure – you can see the difference champagne vs ivory will make in terms of being able to see the lace. You can still see that it’s there, it’s just more subtle.
ETA: I do think the champagne color is just lovely with your skin tone. Personally, if you love the dress I don’t think it matters what color it is, when you look back in 10, 15, 20 years you’ll just remember how much you loved the dress and how happy you were that day.

I love the color too! But I understand wanting a lighter color too. The lace wont be as noticeable, but it may be worth the trade off if your vision has always been a whiter color. I think you can’t go wrong either way. It looks gorgeous on you!

Can’t go wrong with either color, but I think ivory would be lovely on you. Sorry not much help.

Thank you for the comparison photos! That’s exactly what I needed. I couldn’t picture the bottom in Ivory. Hmm… now to sleep on it before deciding! Thank you again!
