I’m allergic to feathers.  Kerchew!  Anyway – here’s another bump for ya.

We just got our 4″ feather bed topper and LOVE it. We also have a 2″ down topped mattress cover (water proof for the dogs) so altogether we have 6″ of feathers between us and our mattress.

Something to consider is the depth of your mattress. Can your sheets accommodate the mattress plus 5″ of feather topper? If not you might have to include the cost of new sheets (which can of course be quite an expense) if you are as picky as I am.

I don’t have an opinion on the size but I had to remove the feather bed I had as the feathers start to poke through and scratch (OUCH!) I would love to use it on our spare bed again if I could find a cover to prevent the pokes/scratches from the feathers. If you see a cover to prevent the feathers from poking out I would love to know where you saw it and also suggest getting one for yourself

We have a 3″ topper and it’s a good thickness for me, any thicker and I think I would be too hot and feel like I’m getting swallowed up by the bed.
