Thanks for starting the new board!

ROLL CALL

Your age/partner’s age: 36/40

Baby #: 1

Cycles TTC: Since 2018

Known fertility issues: MFI requiring a sperm donor and I had fibroid surgery in 2016

Previous fertility treatment?: 3 IUIs, one round of IVF with two embryo transfers that ended in a miscarriage and a chemical pregnancy

What are you doing this month (transfer, beta, IUI, retrieval)?: Hopefully an IUI if my cycle comes back this month

Key dates (POAS, beta, transfer): Not sure yet

Just for fun: What are you most looking forward to when Covid has chilled out?

Traveling! I want to see family and go to the beach.

We met with a new RE last month who seems hopeful that we have a shot to get pregnant with IUI and new meds. Whenever my cycle shows up I’m going to do day 3 labs and start clomid for days 3-7 and then do 75ius of Gonal-F for days 8-11 and do an 11 day scan to see how many follicles I have. He said that he’d inseminate if I had up to 3-4 mature follicles since likely 2 of those won’t be viable. We also found a new donor to try since he said that sometimes placental issues can be passed on from the male. Also, with the genetic testing we did we can screen for the one disease I’m a carrier for.

Unfortunately I have no idea when my cycle is going to return so we can get started. I’m on day 32 which is my longest cycle ever and my temps aren’t showing I’ve ovulated so it’s just a waiting game right now. I had a feeling the chemical pregnancy messed with my cycle since my body tried to ovulate around day 14 and I had bleeding then, which never happens to me. My birthday is on the 19th this month so if I don’t get it by then I’m going to email the doctor to see if he wants me to take something to jump start my cycle. I’ve never gone more than 30 days before so this is strange. Hopefully it starts up soon but for now I’m enjoying the break.

@KittyYogi:  I’m sorry you’re having to do another retrieval but it makes sense since you do want a couple of more kids. Hopefully you get some good normals out of this cycle and can do another transfer soon.

@KittyYogi:  Yeah, we were always planning on two kids but I’m about to turn 37 so we will most likely only have 1. However, my new boss and his wife had to do fertility treatments and they got pregnant with twins on their last IUI so who knows what will happen.

And posting here must be good luck because I just started spotting!

@piscesinsc:  There’s still time if you want!  I was 3 months shy of 39 when I had my frist and I’m due to deliver #2 at almost 41.5.  It’s not ideal and wasn’t the plan when we first started TTC when I was 32 (as we all here know about plans being thrown out the window)… but its ok, and there were “perks” to how it all worked out in the end.

OMG this month. I had a ton of problems getting my FET medications on time this week due to the snowstorm we had in the NE (USA). I thought it was all set, but yesterday I was looking at the calendar my IVF nurse gave me and the dosage of one medication didn’t make sense with the medication I have. I called this morning and apparently I am supposed to take prednisone, but what I have is methylprednisolone, AKA medrol. For some reason my doc really wants me on prednisone, not medrol. They’re calling the prednisone prescription in to a local pharmacy and it just started heavily snowing again. It’s not going to be a huge deal because 1. it’s only about five miles away and 2. it’s not going to cost much money but UGH I would rather spend this snowy Sunday morning cozy at home rather than driving through a snowstorm! I wish I had checked this on Friday instead of Saturday- you’d think I’d have learned by now.

ROLL CALL

Your age/partner’s age: 34/31

Baby #: 1

Cycles TTC: It’s been a year since we started, but I think it’s been 9ish cycles of actually trying.  3 early losses (all under 6 weeks) spread out over that year.

Known fertility issues: Found slightly elevated TSH after my second miscarriage.  Otherwise, nothing known yet.

Previous fertility treatment?: On generic Synthroid since the second loss, but went on to have a third one anyway so that doesn’t seem to be the culprit.  (Or at least not the only one.)

What are you doing this month (transfer, beta, IUI, retrieval)?: Hysteroscopy next week.  I was originally resistant because I didn’t think they’d find anything and I’m not sure the IVF route is for us, but the third loss put me over the edge of wanting more information.

Key dates (POAS, beta, transfer): Hysteroscopy on the 16th.

Just for fun: What are you most looking forward to when Covid has chilled out? Connecting with other humans in person!  The lack of socialization has been really hard for me.

Hi Ladies,

After doing 4 IVF rounds and only getting one embryo, I changed RE’s after hearing another bee discuss her success with Dr. Jeff Wang and I can’t believe it but on my first round with him they retrieved 6 eggs, 6 mature, 6 fertilized and I got 3 embryos. A 3AA, 3BB, and 3BC. I’m PGT testing, should have the results on Tuesday. I’m scared none of them will be normal but it’s surreal to say, I have three embryos to test… I have no idea how this plays out but I’m grateful to all of you for helping me get this far.
