(Closed) FEBRUARY POAS (part two!)

  • poll: Do you untie your shoes every time you take them off?

I slip my shoes off and then have to undo the laces when I put them back on.

I listened to my mother - always untie them before taking them off!

I manage to force them on and off without undoing them.

I don't even own a single pair of shoes with laces.

I tie my shoes so loosely that they never have to be untied.

    I wear my shoes untied.

My baby fever is so bad that I can't even wear shoes. (??? hahaha..)

@Mrs.Metalm:  Yep – sounds like pg cramps to me!!  That’s exactly what I’ve been feeling…and OH BOY do I feel you on the bloating!!  I almost cried looking at myself in the mirror this morning!  I kid you not, I am wearing yoga pants and a slightly loose shirt today because I knew if I put my jeans on, I’d have to wiggle to get in them!  I’m gonna be stocking up on those for the months to come, I have a feeling πŸ˜‰  When do you plan to test again?

    I’m out.  14dpo and a BFN.

Wasn’t much of a surprise though as we found out a few weeks ago that DH’s SA came back with pretty low results.  Seems we will most likely not be getting pregnant on our own and will require medical assistance of some sort.  I see an RE in 2 weeks and we are waiting on a referral for DH.  No more roll-calling for me, but wishing all you bee’s the best of luck.

@SweetMelissa429:  I’m waiting for my order of early-pregnancy-test.com strips. I got 20 for $16 to try and save some money since I clearly have a POAS addiction. But..they way things are building up, I have a feeling DH will cave and let me get some more FRERs to get me through until AF is due (the 9th).

    And yoga pants….BEST PANTS EVER.

    @E_Lynne615:  I’m sorry about AF πŸ™

@JennB_82:  Congratulations!! Happy and healthy pregnancy!!

@MrsBananas:  I’m sorry about AF! Wishing you all the best on your appointment with the RE and I have my fingers super crossed for you to get a BFP soon!

AFM I got the results of my recurrent pregnancy loss tests (I’ve had 4 miscarriages in 6 cycles trying) and everything was perfect! Ultrasound showed no issues either. It sucks so much; I wanted something to be wrong, so that I could get treatment. We have now been referred for genetic testing to check if either of us has DNA balanced translocations, if that’s the case our only way to conceive would be IVF plus another procedure PGD. So I’m not sure what’s best to have an “unexplained condition” or to know for sure what it is, and expect it to be a long and very expensive journey.

My OB told us to keep trying, and recommended me to start acupuncture, she said there are no medical studies that show it works, but she had patients that benefitted if from it.

@E_Lynne615:  Thank you for being such a lovely POAS board host. Aunt Flow should never be allowed to visit board hosts. It’s just not fair! These threads get so bitter sweet, don’t they? If I ever hosted one I would be upset that I couldn’t put BFP next to everyones name! πŸ™ I wish you the best of luck this next cycle. Your DH sounds sweet and I’m sending baby dust you way.

@MrsBananas:  I’m so sorry about the BFN. Hoping you hear some encouraging things from your RE and they can get your DH in to see someone swiftly.

@JennB_82:  Wow! I have no experience with HCG shots, so I don’t know how they’d affect your tests, but I’m hoping that it’s a true BFP for you! Nice strong line there, at any rate!

@Mrs.Metalm: I was so afraid of seeing a negative on a digital that I waited a few days after getting my BFP on FRER to even attempt one. They are just so much less sensitive! FX for a darker line for you tomorrow!

@E_Lynne615:  Thanks hun!  I’m hoping all my tests come back good, which so far my bloodwork has.  I don’t know how we will deal if both of us have issues….

    View original reply
@Turtle83:  I’m really glad your tests came back with no issues but I totally understand how you would have preferred something treatable to show up.  I’ve got my fingers crossed for you that the genetics testing come back negative and you won’t have to go the IVF route.  I think the worst part about testing and treatment is the not-knowing part.  I hope we both have short roads to our BFP’s.

@IAmTheShadow:  Thank you!  DH’s GP wants him to do another SA in 2 weeks to compare & comfirm the low numbers.  At that point he will refer him to a Urologist.  Who knows how long they book in advance so right now we are in a waiting limbo.  How are you and little bean doing?

@IAmTheShadow:  Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) is used for diagnosis of a genetic disease in early embryos prior to implantation and pregnancy. From what I have found online it costs anywhere from 3k to 6k, and this is on top of what IVF costs. So 1 round of IVF + PGD can easily get close to 20k.

@E_Lynne615:  4 flukes would be too much of a coincidence, but I can still hope is the case πŸ™‚

@Turtle83:  I’m so sorry! It’s strange wanting something to be wrong but I get it. On the point of acupuncture, I really believe in it. My friend recommended the guy I go to now. When I told her about going for tests to figure if there was anything wrong she told me not to bother as he would sort it! She was trying for 4 years with multiple losses and got pregnant right away after going to him. Her sister also got pregnant right away. Make sure you get a recommendation though and go to one with fertility expertise. No baby yet but I’m hopeful πŸ™‚
