Have you gone to the doctor?  What is your diet like?

Go to the doctor. 5-6 months is way too long to be sick.

hmm,

I wonder if you are mildly allergic to something you are eating – might want to hit up a naturopath, if you have coverage or can afford it – I feel like they take a little more time to try getting to the root of a specific problem.

good luck…

Did they ever test you for strep? Get a strep test ASAP. You don’t want scarlet fever or glomerulonephritis….seriously, this is important.

If they’ve done blood work and aren’t seeing anything there, get an ultrasound of the swollen nodes and a biopsy if you’re really concerned.

Another thought- mono? Did they test for that?

In the meantime- drink tons of water and don’t play with your swollen lymph nodes. They’ll just swell up more! Sleep like you’ve never slept before. Try supplementing with zinc or emergen-c (if they’ve ruled out strep/kidney issues.)

What have they done diagnostic-wise? What types of doctors did you see? Are you following up on needed tests?

Edit: what meds are you taking? Hard to be helpful without more specific info.

@AB Bride:  What have they ruled out? You say your throat hurts, is it red? swollen? Are your tonsils inflamed?

Sorry for the stream of questions!

Look at your diet.  Eliminate gluten, eat that way for a week or so, and see how you feel.  Eliminate one item at a time to see if it makes a difference.  Gluten, soy, corn, um oh yeah dairy, et cetera…they could all be making you feel awful.  How much high fructose corn syrup and partially hydrogenated oils are you eating?  If you eliminate processed food, you might start feeling better without being fancy and gluten free about it.

@AB Bride:  I can honestly say I know how you feel! I’ve been going through something similar and at this point I’d just like to feel better and find out what’s wrong. Hope you feel better soon!

Follow up on the high white count. That with no documented cause for infection is a red flag for me. Get a biopsy of the lymph nodes.

@AB Bride:  Have you done anything to change your routine? Move to another place, or start a new job, paint a room, maybe get a pet? One of those things could be triggering your bad feeling. New place might have mildew or something, just as an example. Hope you get to the bottom of it!

@AB Bride:  Do you know if you’ve been tested for mono? The symtoms you are describing have some in common with mono, although it’s usually much more severe when you first contract it with fever, chills, etc. But it does swell up lymph nodes in the neck (along with a million and one other conditions though lol)
