I wish I ate less when I was stressed! Being stressed, sad, happy…all makes me eat. 🙂

I’m sorry you’re stressed though–breathe! It will be ok! 🙂

I wish I would eat less, too. Unfortunately, stress seems like the reason for me to eat big macs, korean fried chicken, chocolate, bacon, and pizza (not necessarily in that order). I’ve been trying to train myself to eat a bowl of cereal instead…not working so far.

I eat about the same , but i tend to eat "healthier" when stressed because i’m more attune to my  , ahem , digestion .

I didn’t vote because it depends on the stress…sometimes I can’t eat a thing and other times I eat way too much!

To me it depends what kind of stress we’re talking. If i’m at home studying like a maniac, I tend to eat more in order to try to stay awake. But now I’m out of school, so that’s not really valid anymore. But if i’m stressed b/c i’m busy running errands like a maniac, I tend to eat less because I don’t have the time.Over all though, I think I eat about the same. I count my calories and have a few bad nights here and there (yes pita chips and salsa for dinner the other day) but I don’t go all out fried food, greasy, cakes, etc.

When I get real busy I don’t have time to cook, so I started buying prepackaged organic food like burritos or quick-to-bake "nuggets" that are soy protein and low cal….let me tell you, I spent $170 on ONE trip to the grocery store with half a full cart because of this nonsense!

Eating junk food really takes a toll on my GI tract so I’m constantly reminding myself that while McDonalds seems like a quick fix, it won’t be worth it the next day when I’m feeling sick and nasty. I carry Luna protein bars around in yummy flavors like Iced Oatmeal Raisin for a "cookie fix" with a good amount of protein.

Considering I gained back the 2 pounds I lost over the last two weeks in about 4 days I’d say I’m DEFINITELY a stress eater. Now that I realized that I’m making changes to keep less food and more water around me. 🙂

Usually when I am stressed or emotional I do not turn to food, which is weird to me because I LOVE food!! I am so thankful for that because I tend to be stressed often. Now when Aunt Flow comes around that is a different story. I can eat and almost never feel full which is sooooo bad!

PS: I love how at this point in the poll nobody has checked "I don’t get stressed". LOL

This is why I bought a corset gown dress.

No dress stress! It will fit, no matter what. Whew!

I saw one of my girlfriends for the first time in maybe 2 months and she lost 15 lbs. I was like, you look amazing, whats your secret. She said "i hate my job, and am stressed out". I have the opposite problem. I eat to find comfort- in comfort foods! mmm.. hot fudge brownie sundae anyone???

I used to be a stress food avoider (felt sick at the thought of eating), but that didn’t work out really well for me in medical school. (Less than 100 lbs).

In my quest to become a healthier eater/person in general now I unfortunately err on the side of eating too much in times of stress.  I know that if I start avoiding, I get into a really bad cycle, so I tend to overcompensate a little bit to be safe.  The result is a less perfect physique than I would like… but oh well!

I usually avoid foods or have stomachaches when I’m stressed. I try to balance that out by treating myself to whatever sounds good. Last night that meant Penn Station!
