Anna10-05-2014:  Nearly everything I’ve read and everyone that I’ve talked to says you should provide food for your vendors…I’m not sure why your videographer doesn’t want food? Seems silly of them! Usually you provide a separate table for the vendors, and they can have more ‘generic’ food – ask your caterer about vendor meals – usualy they’re cheaper.

Since we’re doing a buffet (most likely), we’ll just clump in the vendors/assistants into the final catering count and invite the vendors to eat with everyone else (we’ll probably have their table one of the first to get food, though).

Yes, provide a meal for the vendors.  Most places have a vednor meal option that is cheaper (usually just tje plated main dish, no app, salad, or dessert) so you specify that to the caterer, not include that in the final count.  They typically get served in place for the DJ and maybe just a little side table for the photograph to quickly finish up and get back to the pics.  I didn’t even notice when mine went to eat.  They dont typically sit with the guests as far as I know.

Anna10-05-2014:   We gave our vendors the same meal as our guests, and included them in the guest count, but the venue offered “vendor sandwiches” also.

We fed all our vendors regardless of what their contract or requests were. We fed them what everybody else ate, just because it was easiest.
