My mom is having a knee replacement surgery. I live on the other side of the world, so I can’t go visit and thought it would be nice to send a feel better basket. Because I will be mailing it overseas, I don’t think I can send any food or drinks. Any ideas?

Magazines, favorite book series, 1-800 flowers to go with it, puzzles if she likes that thing? If she is tech savy amazon or apple gift cards, if she’s crafting maybe fabric or rovings for knitting. What does she like? People might be more helpful if we know what she likes. Basically I listed things she can do while sitting/laying and that would be deliverable.

pinkcrush: I have sent food over seas before. I just had to mark it on the customs form so they knew there was perishables in it. The food made it just fine. But if you don’t want to go through all that, I would send things she can use while relaxing. I was thinking what I would like if I was having a surgery that would likely cause me to not move for a while. I would like books, hand held games, crafting stuff (like crochet materials or hand stitching activities), movies or tv shows to watch, manicure stuff, and things I don’t need to move to use. I’m not sure what your mom likes, so that is just general stuff.

Thanks ladies! It’s hard to say what my mom likes, because everything she likes involves moving, haha. I think I will stick with books and maybe a season of a TV show. I was also thinking about chap stick, scar cream, and other stuff for the healing process.

my favorite thing after my knee surgeries was an ice pack that was specially designed to strap on your knee. regular ice packs just slip off.
