hi bees:
I had a fun date out with my bf last night, and it was great except for one little snag. I had a friend of a friend get engaged recently and I mentioned it to bf because he knows the person too and I didn’t think he’d heard..(really, just like “oh so-and-so got engaged, I saw it on facebook.”)
and bf gave me this look like “please god not tonight”. so I changed the subject… but it still made me feel kinda bad when I thought about it later. I really wasn’t trying to be pushy!
our engagement/wedding conversations normally go well, but I guess he just wasn’t in the mood last night.
So I’m trying my best to not mention ANYTHING wedding/engagement related for a little while. lol
ugh. ok thanks for letting me vent

He might just be feeling overwhelmed– this could be on his mind now that you’ve talked about it together, so he probably doesn’t want the “lecture” again 🙂 my guy sorta gets the deer in headlights thing and its like “I know already, I need time!” So it is hard to be trusting, but you got to try. Thank goodness for the bee.

It didn’t sound like you were being pushy! He probably just wasn’t in the mood to talk about it, like you said. If the rest of your wedding-y talks go fine, I wouldn’t worry too about last night! 🙂

With more of my friends and acquaintances getting engaged lately I do this a lot, and my SO thinks that I’m pushing for an engagement (which I am not, since he’s only recently found a job and I have little job security over the next year or so). But it is hard (I would love to be financially sound and ready to move forward).

I don’t think it’s pushy either. Though my SO does the samething. Must be a male thing?
