As if already having self esteem issues weren’t enough, wedding dress shopping has been a nightmare! I am short at a whopping 4′ 11″ and I’m on the heavy side, a street size 14. When I’ve gone shopping I can’t get a good idea what the dress will look like because I have about 10 inches of extra fabric dragging on the ground. Even heels don’t help much.
I get the impression I look like a chubby child bride when I put on a dress. I don’t FEEL 26, I feel like I’m 14. Stumpy, not pretty, basically a cereal box with boobs. I see these other girls that are much taller, even the thicker girls look SO GOOD because they have the extra height. I don’t feel like a beautiful bride. What can I do to feel better?? 🙁 Do any of these dresses even look good???

I think you look gorgeous in the second dress!! The only one that I personally don’t like on you is the last one, but that’s because you just do not look happy in it.

I personally think you look gorgeous 🙂 that first dress is stunning on you!! don’t be so hard on yourself.

Dress #2! (With #1 being a close second, IMO)

You are SO NOT a troll! You are beautiful. Honestly.
I think the first dress is AMAZING on you. So bridal and pretty. I would not guess your size at 14 at all, nor would I guess you are 4’11” (not that either of those things is bad at all — I say short is beautiful!).

I got news for ya little lady, I’m 5’6 and all the dresses I tried on were too long for me too! I’m also quite large right now myself, but I found a dress I LOVED and also liked a few that I tried on, despite all of that. I really like that first dress on you! HAve you tried anything on that is A-Line? That first dress looks a bit like a fit and flare and I think that style would also look really good. Keep your head up!

I think the first dress is stunning on you! You definitely don’t look like a child at all. You look like a gorgeous woman in her mid-20s who has fabulous curves.

The first two are amazing on you ! The only one I don’t like is the last one, and like another bee said, it’s because you really don’t look happy in it! But if I had to choose, the first one is really amazing on you ! I think you’re being too hard on yourself.. but of course dont settle if you don’t feel good in a dress! Keep shopping and trying different things ! For some people, it takes more time to find something they really like ! But I can assure you that lace looks fabulous on you.

I agree with the others honestly you look so so pretty. I’m not keen on the third one as you look most unhappy and it’s quite plain but I love the first and second one. Maybe you haven’t found the one yet and should keep looking after all you should feel brilliant with it on.

Firstly, you look beautiful in these dresses. Don’t beat yourself up! Trying on dresses when you are not entirely happy in your own body is HARD! Though I’m taller than you, I had a heckuva time building myself up to go dress shopping at all! Try on a bunch of them to get a vibe of what styles suit you best.
I like the shape of the second one on you so far, the sweetheart neckline is lovely and it fits nicely to your waist and hips. I think it’s very figure flattering. Though I can’t see the full dress, I think it’s the one I prefer. The 1st and 3rd are nice too, the 3rd one is flattering with the ruching details on it, it looks very flowy and pretty.

omg please buy the first one!!! They are in order of my favorites. I had self esteem issues too but you have to remember that others see us so differently than we see ourselves. And pictures do do justice. I was scrolling down expecting to see your description (short troll) butI didn’t. You’re so pretty!! I really loved the a line/ trumpet on you but the mermaid/trumpet looks really pretty too. I’m glad you stayed away from ball gowns since you are sensitive about your height. But seriously, you look gorgeous. The first two are my faves. 🙂

I like both the 1st and 2nd dresses on you. I am also 4’11” and I’m a street size 16. All of the extra length was hard to deal with when I was trying things on because nothing fell where it should. I needed to opt for dresses that hit my natural waist rather than a dropped waist because of where I carry my weight.
If you aren’t happy with how you look in those 3 dresses, which are all similar in shape, have you tried on any other silhouettes?
I wound up with a ballgown on my short 4’11” body:
