My wedding is in a little less than 8 months and I have to admit that I’m stressing about the fact that I’m not stressing lol I actually feel like I should be doing all kinds of stuff and yet, I’m not all that busy with wedding planning. I hear about all these bees whose wedding is consuming their lives and I feel like I’m missing something or forgetting something. I’m on track on all those timelines that I’ve seen and the next few months seem very manageable as well.
Please tell me I’m not the only one!

I think most of the brides who are insanely busy are doing a lot of DIY. I wouldnt worry to much that your not swamped thats a good thing.

It really depends on what your plans are, are you doing any DIY projects, because usually those are time consuming and you might want to get started early on those

That’s how I was. I did a lot when we first got engaged: booked the venue, photographer, DJ, Florist, and Officiant, bought my dress, and picked out bridesmaids dresses. Then didn’t really do much until we got under the 6 month mark. Then we got to go to cake tasting, food tasting, started working on our song list, picked out invitations. Since then there’s been a few big things to do like each month and then this month is when I feel like the wedding is actually starting to be a huge part of my day to day activities and with only 5 days to go, it’s pretty much my life right now 🙂

@smiles4jo: Nope, not the only one! There was a good bit of stuff to do at the outset, but for now I have a pretty manageable list to work with and I don’t see it getting overwhelming in terms of actual things to do. I’m not doing much, if anything, in the way of DIY, so there’s that to consider also.

Nope! I felt like things happened in waves. When we first got engaged, it was all about booking the important vendors (in our case, it was the reception site, photographer, and ceremony venue). We had a lull, then did a little more with me getting my dress, finding a DJ, looking for bridesmaid dresses and such. I felt like I started getting a little more busy around the six month mark. That was when we started registering, finalizing tuxedos, and other things. Now that I’m at the three month mark, I feel like there’s more to do. We’re assembling invitations, I have showers starting to happen, finishing the buying of gifts, confirming things…it’s getting crazy! Don’t worry…it will pick up :-).

It hit me today. Our wedding is in 6 days, and WOW, today I really feel stressed. I am doing an insane amount of DIY, but most is pretty much complete.
Last night I finished making the napkin rings and wrapped all 123 sets of utensils.
Today I made the stickers and stuck them on all 120 bottles of bubbles.
Made and put the stickers on all the favors.
Printed the programs
Printed the seating assignments in Alphabetical order.
Printed the seating assignments in Table order
Made sure that I have all dog tags printed for everyone and separated by table.
Each table assignment sign/dog tags and place cards are in a bag separated by table name.
I still have to put the boutenniers and bouquets together, then FINISHED!!!
