that was a sucky thing for them to do =( all you can do is forget about it. I’m sure it wasn’t because of your makeup haha

That blows. I’m sorry.

You mention your makeup… so I’m curious. Do you think that you were dressed appropriately? Like, your attire, accessories, etc. match what other women were wearing?

I’m always self conscious at work that I am showing too much skin or my makeup looks silly compared to my coworker, so I can totally understand that. It sucks, but always room to improve!

@SpecialSundae:    Hugs!!  Wow, that sucks.  I’m so sorry that did that to you – how rude!  Didn’t they know you’d see the final photo?  I can’t think of any excuse for that, I’d probably be tempted to confront someone and ask why they wanted you to stand for the picture in the first place if they were going to turn around and crop you out.  It’s just wrong.

A thought:  Maybe it was a mistake??

@SpecialSundae:   That just doesn’t make any sense to me.  I’m so sorry!  In all the pictures you’ve posted here you look lovely, and you’re very  photogenic, so it’s highly unlikely it had anything to do with your appearance or make-up.  In fact, your wedding pictures are among my very favorite ones.

Could it be that they just changed their mind?  Or, could it be they need one cropped photo of just the “professional” part of your staff and another all-inclusive one?  Maybe they need the photos for several different usages, if that makes any sense, and are planning to still use the one with you in it as well as the cropped one.

I would not jump to the conclusion that it was anything personally or appearance-wise wrong with you.

That was a rude thing for them to do for any reason.  They could have at least told you they were going to crop you out instead of letting you find out that way.  The decision was probably made by one rude person.

Just hold you head high and be proud to be on a team that is up for an award.  That’s a great accomplishment.  I’m sure they appreciate everything you do.  Believe me if they didn’t appreciate you they would let you know.

Ive had a similar situation take place.  At my previous employer, we all had professional head shots taken.  These were used and put together in a little program for our clients to see the “team” that was working on their account.  I wasnt senior on the account – but still VERY part of the team… and I was left out of our big client’s program.  Other individuals with my same experience were included – but no, not me.  It took me awhile to get over it.  It definitely made me feel like I wasnt valued at the company I worked for… Oh well.  I still have a bitter taste in my mouth from it… but Im over it… haha… Just takes awhile!

@SpecialSundae:  LOL, I know what you mean, I’m always very critical of pics of myself, too.

Probably what they meant by the “Don’t worry, we can crop it” comment was that only one picture was taken and you were in it – and they need one with the entire team and one with only part of the team.  Since they didn’t take one with only the partial team, that comment makes perfect sense if they need it both ways.  It probably wasn’t anything personal directed at you.  🙂

@SpecialSundae:  I’m sorry that happened! I would feel the same way.
