I’m near-35 and my niece is 26, and I can’t believe that today is her wedding day! Very happy for her that she’s found someone who cares for her very much.
I’m feeling my age today, though — but I can’t imagine how my sister must feel! It seems like only yesterday that my niece and my other niece (who’s 25) were getting into all of my jewelry, clothes, and makeup when I was a teenager, and now one of them is getting married! I also remember holding her for the first time when she was a newborn and I was 8, learning that I was now an aunt. It was a weird, wonderful feeling!
Back story: My half-sister is 49 and had my nieces back when she was in her early 20s and I was still a kid myself. She and I (and our 47-year-old brother) have the same father, but different mothers. Their mother passed away in the mid-’70s; then, a couple of years later, our father got together with my mother, married, and then had me.

@leenh78: My nephew has a way to go (only 13) but he could very well make me a great-aunt before I’m 40. Crazzzzzyyy to think about.

@worldtraveler: I was a great-aunt at 28! Said niece in my original post had a child when she was 19.

This just made me realize that is my oldest nephew gets married at the same age I did, I will also be 35. OMG. I’m not there yet, but I feel no where close to old enough to think about nieces and nephews-in-law!!
