Darling Husband knew that there was a pair of boots I LOVE and have had the hardest time finding lately and he bought them for me off ebay for my birthday… Which is Awesome! However, they just came in the mail and I tried them on and they don’t fit! UGH!
They are a size 6, i normally wear a size 6.5 or a 6 and these boots feel like they are a 4 for some reason, I love them but Darling Husband does not know that I tried them on yet, I feel so bad he got them for me and they don’t fit, what do I do!

Did you try them on before he gave them to you?

@globalmargaret: exchange them lol. Are you worried about his feelings being hurt?

@globalmargaret: I would tell him that they don’t fit and exchange/return them. Fiance likes to buy me clothes and I always feel terrible when they don’t fit (he orders the right size) but when I keep them they never get worn. If they get exchanged I’m usually much happier.

I am worried that his feelings are hurt, they came in the mail today and Darling Husband is away in the military for another two months so I tried them on… I can’t exchange them becuase they are from ebay and there doesn’t seem to be another pair on there. I think I will have to tell him they don’t fit while he is away.

Exhcange them. These things totally happen and shouldn’t offend anyone!

It’s unfortunate, but you can’t keep them. I’m sure he’ll understand!! Could you resell them?

Just re-sell them on ebay. Shoes are like jeans…even though you know your size brands do not all fit the same way. Just say “I think it is so sweet you ordered these boots! You’re the best! I really want to show them off and tell everyone what a great husband you are but for some reason they are very snug for a six. Would you mind if I try to re-sell them and get them in a bigger size?”

I would talk with your FI as soon as possible to find out whether or not the listing allowed for a return period, and, if so, I would return them to the seller for a full refund. (You’ll likely have to pay for the return shipping, however.) He could always try to find you a similar pair in a larger size at another time.
