Hey, it truly sounds like you’ve been to hell and back, which will help make you a great psychologist. I haven’t been through what nerve been through, but I had been through what was atraumatizing childhood for me. I thought I’d never be able to cope with it, so I sought out psychological help – and let me tell you, setting small goals is KEY. Dont look at yourself as a failure because you aren’t where you expected to be. Set up yo roadmap for yourself of how you can get there and just check the little things off as you go (ie: mailing your application).
Just as something to consider, I’d look into putting your great skills to use right now. Have you considered volunteering? Even for a suicide hotline? I think it would really boost your sense of accomplishment Nd you’d really be helping someone in need.
God luck and don’t give up! Baby steps and you’ll get there.
