I love the shape of the second dress, it’s very slimming and elegant. However, I think the ammount of beading on the bust is a bit much.

@shamrock1228:  I didn’t tell my Fiance which one you liked more and asked him to pick his favorite. He likes the A-line. Now you have a mans pick too. 🙂 when I told him your mother said it was for an older woman he was shocked. He says now way that’s for an older woman. We think your mother just wants you in the big dress because that’s her vision of you on your wedding day. I like the A-line too.

your mom is crazy! they both look great, and I say go with comfort! is it worth walking around with raw arms all day to please your mom? probably not!

I would get the A-line if only for the fact that the first one is uncomfortable. Those beads scratching you up are NOT what you want to be thinking about during your ceremony!

At the end of the day it is your decision… it’s really unfair that your mom would even put you in this position… telling you that you look “bad” is really not nice at all.  If my mom did that to me I’d call her out on it.  But whatever decision you do make, please know that you are going to look amazing either way.

I’d also like to point out that you still tried on other dresses even though you loved the ball gown.  Maybe that was your gut telling you something better will come along.  Seems like it did!!

Both are beautiful for different reasons. I prefer number two but you could wear either and look fabulous.

WOWEE that 2nd dress is gorgeous on you, it’s really flattering!! I honestly think you look skinnier in the 2nd dress, and if it’s mroe comfortable, thats a bonus!

The A-line looks very figure flattering on you..the poof on the ballgown actually makes you seem a little lost in it

Both are gorgeous but I think the A-Line really shows off your figure. I disagree with your mom- you do not look fat at all! You look fantastic in the A-Line!

Both dresses are beautiful, but I do prefer the second dress and I’ve never been a huge fan of ballgowns.  At the end of the day, it needs to be your choice and something you are comfortable in and feel amazing wearing.  Best of luck in your decision.

I think your mom might be crazy. The second dress gives you a wonderful hourglass figure which you definitely have! The first dress just covers up all your feminine  assets. It almost makes you look larger or like you are trying to hide figure flaws that you don’t have. I definitely vote for the second dress.

Get what you want. You have to wear it and be comfortable! I love the A-line. You look great, not at all what your mom says. I think she has a more traditional and plain look in mind.

Of those two dresses, i prefer the ball gown – but not necessarily bc of the shape.  I think your body looks fab in both!  I think for me, if just the particular dresses. I like the ball gown more.  I HATE rouching tho, so that could sway my opinion.  I think the A-Line shape looks gorgeous on you!  I just am not feeling that specific dress.

Don’t settle.  If you haven’t had that feeling yet, then keep shopping.  I shopped around for 5 months and tried on so many dresses.  I have a long engagement so I had the luxury of time.  After a while tho,  even though I was very casually shopping, I thought maybe I just wouldn’t have that “feeling”.  But I did!  I eventually found one that was different than all the others I’d been looking at and I knew almost right away that Yep, This is MY dress 😀

I hope you have the same feeling and follow your heart.  If your mom or anyone else thinks a different dress is better, then so be it.  You can’t all love the same dress equally… just doesn’t happen that way!

I think the second dress makes you look slimmer. Once you make a purchase, I have the feeling your mom will not say anything about it. Pick what you love.
