I’m feeling some guilt as I decided to buy a second wedding dress! (and excited to have my 2nd fitting soon). However, the first time I tried on dresses, I was about 60lbs heavier. My first round trying on wedding dresses, I had narrowed it down to the following 2 dresses (and ended up buying the first)
Then over the past year I worked hard to lose the weight and decided to celebrate my achievement I would find a new dress. My mom was originally urging me to alter the old dress. Once I tried on the new dress I fell in love with it and for the first time in my life felt beautiful. I feel bad spending money on a second dress (and still trying to sell the first as it was never worn or altered). But so excited that I did!!! Can’t wait to wear it in July! Do you think I made the right choice?

Wow, what an incredible transformation. Congratulations on all your hard work.
Truthfully, if it were me, I would have purchased a new dress as well. Losing such a significant amount of weight, everything you think you aren’t allowed to wear at a certain size is automatically a possibility . And you probably look great in everything. Not that you didin’t before, btw. I find you beautiful in all the pictures.
Anyway, I think you made the right choice, and I think your new gown is beautiful and a true celebration of the new you.

Congratulations! I think that given the amount of weight that you lost you would have had to get a new dress. The general rule is that a dress can onlytwo altered two sizes and you probably changed a lot more than that.

I think you look great in your new dress. You can always try to sell your old dress if you feel guilty. The new dress is gorgeous!!! 🙂

You lost 60 lbs…that’s an achievement! I would have bought a new dress to fit my new body too!

I definitely think you made the right choice. Altering a dress to compensate for a loss of 60 pounds would be very difficult–it could probably be done, but I don’t think it could look as good as one you chose already at your smaller size. You look fabulous, don’t feel guilty! You’ve obviously worked very hard and you deserve to treat yourself!
