@howtobeawife:  It’s so pretty!  They’re probably jealous, don’t let it worry you.  As long as you love it and you and your husband agreed to it, it’s really none of their business anyway.  ๐Ÿ™‚

Just tell them, “with the expenses of the wedding, so our guests could be priority, we opted to get my diamond ring at a later date –  the date has come!”  With that said, they will know you were thinking of them first when your day should have been about you.  Good luck and wear it proudly!

I wonder…

If I got a new wedding ring, I might get some comments as well, but that’s because the original ring is supposed to be a symbol of forever… not to be exchanged or traded up.

I wonder if this negative response is jealousy… or whether it is sentimentality… a sentimental attachment to what the original ring represents?

Is it really just about the money? Because, if so, that does seem a little snide.

I am so concerned about this ๐Ÿ™ I want to get my diamond reset before the wedding because I want my ring at the wedding to be my forever ring, and literally the night he gave me my current ring he said “eventually we’ll get a pave band.”  Welllllllll … now I’m in a weird spot because it looks like I’m greedy.

I don’t have any advice but I can totally understand how you must be feeling ๐Ÿ™ It will pass!!

It is gorgeous and just say he wanted to spoil you just a bit more and you’re a lucky girl – don’t let them get to you!

It’s none of their business! They didn’t pay for it and I’m sure you guys didn’t sell any body organs or anything crazy to afford it so they should but out! It’s GORGEOUS!

@howtobeawife:  ….next time you get a comment with that judgey undertone…just remind them there are women on this earth who spend a hellofa lot more money on dumber things…personally, I can’t think of a better way to invest!
