Doesn’t matter if his game fly subscription is less than 30, that should absolutely go. When you’re scrounging for gas money, I’d think that every little bit counts. Since he’s out of work, he should be available for odds and ends jobs. My school used to have listings for people who needed dog walking, house cleaning, etc.. or maybe even craigslist. At 25-50 bucks a task, it shouldn’t be too hard come up wiht 400 bucks in a fairly short amount of time.

Can you get a job? When I was in college, I still worked 30 hours a week.

@ForeverBirds: I would accept your Dad’s generous offer. That’s what family is for. You can pay him back when you are back on your feet. Remember…this too shall pass.

I worked two part-time jobs in college and full-time in grad school. Did it suck? Oh yes, but it was necessary. OP, in this case, it looks like it is necessary, bc you’re not even treading water.

In your other thread you mentioned he is a smoker. I suggest quitting. The cost of a smoking habit is insanely expensive for something that is terrible for you.

Unfortunately I’m on my phone and can’t reply to each and every one of you, as much as I would like to. I just wanted to say I am so grateful for all of the bees who have offered advice and positive encouragement- it really means a lot. This was an unexpected blow but we’ll get through it. SO and I will definitely take all of the advice we got on here in account once we can finally talk face-to-face tomorrow and come up with a plan of action. I just want to say again, thank you for all the support bees!
