I need help with my chart. My husband and I have been ttc for a couple months now. I didn’t chart the times we ttc this month because we decided to hold off this month since we were both asked to be a part of our friends wedding 9 months from now and we both wouldn’t want to miss it, as soon as my period is over however we are going to being ttc once again. I charted for this first time this month and to me it looks like I ovulated on day 19 or 20 which would be about 13 days during the luteal phase however fertility friend says I ovulated on day 26 which would only leave 7 days of luteal phase which obviously isn’t very good. At first fertilityfriend said I ovulated on day 19 but then changed to day 26. Can someone help figure out what day I ovulated? I’m really worried if my luteal phase is only 7 days.. should I consult a doctor??

@mrs_ecc: I would say you O’d between the 24th and the 26th but it’s difficult to be sure due to the missed temp on the 25th and the open circle on the 26th indicating an issue with temping that day. If you think having a short LP may be a problem (which it may but after charting only one cycle I don’t think you can conclude that for sure), then taking a B complex vitamin daily can help extend your LP. I wouldn’t start to worry until you have at least 3 cycles in a row with an LP of less than 10 days.

@mrs_ecc: we’ll your crosshairs are dotted so that means there is conflicting info and it might not be correct. it looks like you could have o’d on 19 or 26. It looks more like 26 since the temps are going so much higher but there’s nothing saying that you will have a 7 day luteal phase, it def might go longer. The luteal phase usual stays around the same whereas the follicular phase is the one that can change. The only thing to do is to wait for af and see how long the luteal phase is and since ff isn’t sure about the o date youd probably need to chart a few more cycles before your dr would investigate further. Hope that helps!

@SeaTurtle88: I actually got my period yesterday which is why I said I had a 7 day luteal phase 🙁

I would chart for at least a few more cycles before jumping to any conclusions. It takes a while to see your patterns and know when you typically ovulate. Do you usually have a 35 day long cycle? Were you on birth control prior to TTC?

@jny1179: I was on birth control for maybe two or three months because I tend to have very painful periods but shortly after starting it my husband and I decided to start ttc so mid july was my last time taking the pill and we have been trying ever since. I never really noticed how long my cycles were but I would say yes it probably has been about this long and I have always been extremely regular, if I get my period on the 10th more than likely the following month I will get my period around the 8-11th.

Yeah I would give it a few more months of charting to see your normal temp/ovulation patterns. It’s good that you have regular cycles. Hopefully it won’t take too long to get your BFP! Good luck!!
