Definitely dress 5!! The waist + ballgown skirt smooths your lower half out beautifully, while creating a nice hourglass silhouette. Plus, I actually think that strapless suits you much better. I know a lot of girls want to cover their arms, but honestly? If you’re wearing sleeves or straps, then guess where my eyes are going to go? Yup, right to your arms. Where a lot of people don’t want any attention. With a strapless dress that defines your waist, I am instead looking at your pretty figure, or your happy face, or your awesome hair, or whatever.
Dress 5 looks AMAZING on you!
Dress 5 flatters you so well!
My “second place” would be dress 4.
Wow you ladies are fast! Thanks for the feedback. 5 is the only one that was in my size and is also the one that is soooo far outside my comfort zone. I feel like it’s not my personality and doesn’t fit the style of the wedding. But I agree it looks the best. Maybe I can look for something that shape but with less tulle. I also really want a cap sleeve so I a not thinking about my arms all day. I tried on the Maggie Sottero Lorie gown which I don’t have a picture of (the store wouldn’t allow them), that seemed to be the closest to #5 with an added belt. I was just turned off by the lace up back. Maybe I should try it again. It does come with detachable cap sleeves.
Any dress recomendations (designer & Style #) that have the shape of 5 but a bit less princess/Ballerina that you may have tried on or seen? I would love to hear them.
Thanks for everyone’s help!
Dress 5 looks great on you. I’m pretty sure my dress is exactly what you described you wanted with lace, cap sleeves, flowy, simple, with an accent of sparkle. Even better it’s the same silhouette as dress 5 and it’s light and cool to wear (I’m getting married in August too) My dress is Sincerity 3701. There a sparkly flower accent on the waist band that fell off the sample I tried on. I can go take a close up if you want to see it, I also have more pics if you’re interested.
@missmess I never really thought about the sleeves drawing MORE attention. Good thought.
I love love love dresses 4 and 5.
On a side note…not sure if you’ve tried it already, but if you haven’t, you should give Alfred Angelo a try! You look like you’re about my size (I’m a street size 18/20), and they had just about every dress available in my size to try on. 🙂
5 is my fav followed by 4. I said ‘Wow’ out loud when I got to 5. 🙂
