Welcome to the Hive.  I would start with getting one of those downloadable check lists.  I hate to use the “K” word, but the knot has a really good one or pick up a wedding planning book at Barnes and Nobles.  Have you gotten your dress yet?  Some of the designers take quit a bit of time to get the dresses to you.  If you haven’t gotten one you may want to start there.

Don’t worry!  I booked everything I needed well in advance but didn’t do any of the “details” until 2-3 months before.  You’ll be fine!!!  Not that I’m promoting procrastination or anything… Wink

My colors were black, purple, with very small touches of dark pink and also the bright green and damask (sounds a little overboard, I know).  There is a TON of cute stuff out there for ideas.  I was inspired by the paper & cardstock selection @ Joanne’s, and that got me going on all of my DIY stuff (place cards, table numbers, and such).  Perhaps take a peek at something like that.

Have you played around with any inspiration boards?

Another great resource is Mindy Weiss’ The Wedding Book.  It’s also really helpful for me to set monthly or weekly goals for when I want to work on certain things.  It makes planning a little more managable because it’s easier to focus one task a week compared to trying to tackle 20 things a week.  Once you figure out your own timeline for what you what to get accomplished and when, it’s easy to just start checking things off your list.

Girl, I’ve been feeling the exact same way & I’m also a June 2011 bride. The worst part is that we planned a super long engagement just so we could get everything out of the way…unfortunately, it just resulted in laziness and nothing was accomplished : )

My best advice for you is ask recently married friends for advice. Everyone plans differently and weddings are different depending on the location, so not all timelines apply to every bride & groom. Good luck!!!

We have the same colors!  I am having the same problem.  I am type A, but there are so many time consuming little things that just feel overwhelming so I keep putting them off.  I’m hoping to get alot done on my two week vacation from work soon.
