Well this may not mean anything coming from me, as I’m 23, but everytime I hear someone complain about getting older I tell them, “Growing old is a privledge”.

Yep.  I’m 26, and I feel like I’m stuck with a career that I can’t stand (teaching high school English), and I missed my chance to do what I really want to do (a career in fashion).  You’re definitely not alone!

That being said, 30 is the new 40 and all that, so have a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! and know that you’re still young!!  You have like 70% of your life left!

You know, I can honestly say that the best time of my life has been in my 30’s.  Trust me, you will feel the same way.  I feel like I have made better choices, better sex, and all together just a better woman.

I had fully intended to meet my sister and best friend at Cracker Barrel the morning of my 30th birthday.  The plan was to hold hands and cry over pancakes… silly I know but we had talked about doing that since we were 21!  It ended up being a great day.  30 was actually a great year!  I did most of my wedding planning, ran my first marathon, adopted a dog, and set a timeline for future babies- all when I was 30.  It’s ok to kind of “mourn” the passing of a decade- don’t get me wrong, I had a  BLAST in my 20’s and part of me was sad to see that go.  I can honestly say though, that so far my 30’s have been more exciting, more fulfilling than any other time in my life.  I am healthier and in better shape than I’ve ever been!

I do have more gray hair than I’d like, but I have a fantastic colorist I have a “date” with every 5-6 weeks.

Trust me- the best years of your life are in front of you, not behind you!

Honestly 30s are WAYYY better than 20s ever were. The only downside is that hangovers in your 30s are nearly unbearable. LOL.

I have more money, a more established social circle, and more self-confidence than I did when I was younger…oh, and a better SO.

Don’t be sad. Enjoy it!

Turning 30 really isn’t that bad.  My 30’s have been so much better than my 20’s. 30 is the new 20!

Whoops.  Totally screwed up that saying after seeing MrsBlueSeptember post it.  30 is the new 20, not the new 40! My b! lol

@missrobots:  Re: hangovers. YES! It is the worst. I am glad other people have this problem too.

I’m 31 now, and every decision I have made after 30 has been WAY better than in my 20’s.

Anyway, haven’t you heard, 30 is the new 20??? 🙂

My 30th was a tough one for me, too.  I cried at the thought of turning 30, and I had a newborn baby.  I thought my young life was completely over and I had to face facts and become a real adult.  Little did I know then that the best was yet to come.  My 40’s have been even BETTER than my 20’s and 30’s.  I actually am enjoying aging now.

If you take care of your health and make yourself a priority, the rest comes naturally and more easily.  I am so much smarter, happier, wiser, more grounded, and have tons more confidence, than ever before in my life.  And I think I look just as great, if not better.

And with age you also seem to get more respect.  (Or maybe they’re just more scared of me now, hehe).
