Girl, my shower is in two days and I *just* saw the first item disappear from my registry.  It’s all good.  Relax and have a wonderful time with the people who care about you.

Do you REALLY think people will show up at your shower empty handed? Of course not! People just procrastinate. Don’t stress 🙂

As PP said, I almost always pick up my gifts for shower the day before and sometimes even the day of the shower.. so I wouldn’t worry about it at all!

Um, most people buy shower gift the week of and even the day of the shower. Quit registry stalking and be surprised…

I wouldn’t spend energy worrying over this…I also suggest that you stop looking at your registry as you really don’t know/have control over what people gift to you.  Just my thought!  That’s what I did, at least, and I never worried about a thing.  I never understood the whole registry-stalking thing – seems like it would only bring disappointment when your shower should be fun.

I felt the exact same way so you, OP. Well, I don’t feel unloved (I highly doubt that’s the case w/ you), but I was wondering what the heck is going on. But hearing from a lot of people that most procrastinate til day of made me feel better 🙂

And as far as registry stalking, a lot of people do it. We registered for the stuff, not such a huge surprise if we get it.

I feel your pain – but I found out most of those errors were either A) on behalf of the store not scanning or B) people waiting until the last minute to get something.  No fear, you are loved!

I agree with the other Bees.  Some thoughts…

A) I wouldn’t spend energy feeling unloved because you know you’re loved by your family and whether or not you receive a gift is no reflection of their love for you.

B) I’m a HUGE procrastinator.  In fact, I do my best work when I’m feeling the crunch of a deadline.  I’m pretty sure everyone else functions the same way when it comes to buying gifts.

C)  This is thinking outside the box but it applies to me.  Sometimes I NEED to wait until closer to the occasion due to finances.  Example: DH and I have had at least one birthday party or baby shower every weekend for the past two months.  Our money is super tight right now because each week we’re buying gifts.  In fact, I need to buy a gift tomorrow for another party Saturday night.  😉

Relax a bit and get ready for some fun!

I just had my shower a few weekends ago and honestly I got very little from my registry!

My girls planned an around the clock shower (everyone got a time and the gift was supposed to represent that time) and the gifts they bought ended up being so personal and showed how much they loved me. They all got us gift cards for things we love to do, our favourite restaurant, the movie theatre, blockbuster, a massage, stuff for hosting BBQs, serving dishes, etc.

We are big quality time people. Meaning we LOVE doing stuff together rather than owning things and the fact that all my friends and family KNOW that about us and bought gifts accordingly makes me feel WAY more loved than if they bought off the registry!

So I wouldn’t put too much worry into it – your shower will be great no matter what people give you!

I sometimes forget the registry at home, and don’t always shop directly from it. This also happened to my niece who recenly married, she had lots of gifts not all from their registry. Let’s face it, not all people are “registry” shoppers.

Don’t panic. I think a lot of people forget to update the registry. Also, if your Amazon registry includes non-Amazon items (universal wish list), those items will not be marked automatically as they’re purchased. Finally, you may find some of your guests buy registry items at non-registry stores.

My shower was last weekend, and I was a little concerned going into it, too. However, I was overwhelmed with the number of nice gifts I received — all from our registries. I just made sure to update them accordingly when I got home.

I honestly don’t have any of those stores anywhere near me. & if I waited till the last minute and didn’t have time to order online I’d probably end up winging it. Thats why I think people usually register @ stores that are nearby where the guests are coming from? U might get a lot of surprise gifts. I wouldn’t waste much energy worrying about it. They’re just gifts.
