@kyana:  Do you know your European size? You know… like 37, 38, 39, 40 etc.? That makes it a whole lot easier.

Do you just walk into a shoe store and ask for something in centimeters?

I just measured my own foot… it is aprox 26 cms long … and I wear an 8 or 8-1/2 US / CANADA shoe size

Personally, I’ve found that a lot depends on the materials the shoe is made of… natural materials and I’m more likely to get away with an 8 (leather stretches out over time)… whereas man-made materials and I’m likely to go for an 8-1/2

Additionally, I also find that the cut / width of the shoe can make a difference as well… some manufacturers (especially Design / Brand Names) I find are made narrow… and I just cannot get into an 8 at all… then I have to go up a size to an 8-1/2

Honestly, I find that shoes is one of those things I have to try on in person, because comfort is such a personal thing.  Probably WHY I am not one to buy shoes online.

@This Time Round:  Agreed. I can wear anywhere from a 6.5 to an 8.5 because of differences in type of shoe, material, brand, etc.
