There’s a couple of shops that do good imitation dresses in china from what I understand.  One is called dressilyme.com and there’s a second one I’m thinking of but I can’t recall the name now.  It’s talked about on this forum quite a bit though.  Maybe other bee’s can help with the name of that one and give advice about quality?  I haven’t ordered from either, but I’ve heard they have good quality and customer service.

The other one that is highly rated is Jasmine’s Bridal Shop.

Jasmine’s has an option of purchasing higher quality stitching and higher quality fabric. Dressilyme doesn’t have that option. I definitely would NOT waste your money on a random e-bay seller. I have only heard of heartbreak from that!

You could also do this:

Buy this dress: http://www.trashydiva.com/shop/Honey-Dress-p2557.html

And this bolero: http://www.etsy.com/listing/101329090/off-shoulder-ivory-alencon-lace-bolero

And a crinoline like this: http://www.artfire.com/ext/shop/product_view/ellanacouture/3782603/tea_length_crinoline__medium_fullness__designed_specifically_for_ou______/handmade/wedding/clothing/other?utm_source=gshopping&utm_medium=gshopping&utm_campaign=GoogleShopping

And VOILA!

On the one hand, it may not look as good on as you think it will (I was surpised by what looked good on me and what didn’t.  A dress I LOVED looked not-so-special on).  On the other hand, it might.  So my advice is, unless you can pay the 1500 pounds for it, do NOT try it on.  Then you’ll be disappointed by every other dress you try on.

@Beckster329:  SO VERY TRUE.

I have the same problem. First dress I put on was Vera Wang’s Dinah and now no dress can compare. I was dumb!

have you tried looking on “preowned” website or “still white” website – sometimes you can find what your looking for at a cheaper price.

I would try it on first as you might change your mind about it which will save your dilemma! Beautiful dress though x

@stokieGal:  Not sure if I’d trust the replica for the reasons you list. I think with a wedding dress, especially since you’re likely to end up spending around the $1,000 mark or so, I would want to SEE it first.

I am sure there are plenty of others that you’ll love just as much that are in your budget and you can find locally.

Try telling yourself that it’s only one day, you will only wear it once, and that being in debt is not good. That might snap you out of it?

Go try it on.  If you love it, see about having a replica made.  Lots of women on this board have had great success with Chinese made replica gowns.
