have you checked out pawn shops or vintage jewlery places?

you can always upgrade center stone in the future or even get an anniversary ring or a enhancer.

imo- i would get what i could afford and go on vacation. save up the upgrade in a year call it a anniversary present

Try a little bit smaller? Online options like bluenile could get something close to that in the .75 carat range for 1.5k

You can get a 1 carat I SI1 marqise diamond for 1600. It will proba ly look better than the one at Zales. (I’m not a fan of mall jewelers, They’re overpriced and often for poor quality. You’re paying for all that advertising) A solitaire setting is inexpensive. You can have the ring you want for around $2,000.

Hm…that’s a tough one. Ebay? I found this. Still expensive and not yellow gold but I thought it was pretty

I would look at Etsy, ebay, or online retailers. Maybe a local jewler as well? The chain jewlers tend to have much higher prices comapred to the quality of the diamonds and metals so you get less bang for your buck.

crimsonquill157 :  OP please I beg you to check out a reputable local independent jeweler, or James Allen. I have never purchased anything from James Allen but a lot of bees have and they seem to have very reasonable prices. I have, however, had experiences with Kay and Zales and I am ONLY speaking from personal experience, I just had really bad luck 🙁 They are wonderful for so many people and others can testify, I am just not one of them unfortunately. Best of luck bee.

crimsonquill157 :  Look at ID Jewelry online. That’s where I purchased my diamond from. They have excellent diamonds and they seem to be the cheapest ones around. They also have a bunch of settings at great prices. If you don’t see a diamond you want, just contact them and they’ll find you one in your budget. They’re so friendly, kind and absolutely helpful. If I get another upgrade in the future I’m going back to them for my diamond. I can’t recommend them enough!

crimsonquill157 :  Also, the one someone posted from Overstock is not a good diamond. The clarity is the worst one, meaning it’s not clear at all. And it is also clarity enchanted. It’s not going to be a good diamond at all. You can definitely get better for your money. Check around online for sure.

crimsonquill157 :  Several bees have given great advice already. Look anywhere other than a “maul” store and DO NOT buy a clarity enhanced diamond either.  You can do much better

Brilliant Earth is great too and you have the choice of mined or lab created. Do not let the carat weight fool you on the size of the actual diamond!. Diamonds often just under the full 1ct look extremely similar in size. Pay attention to the diamater of the stone rather than the weight. ( a 1ct marquise is 10x5mm) Because diamonds are measured in carats, the popular weights (.50, 1.0, 1.5…etc) are usually more expensive, but if you go just under those carats you can still find a diamond that looks a sliver less than close to it’s popular carat size.

I found a .62ct marquise (just under 9×4.5mm) on Brilliant Earth for $1,260 (setting is additional but I see some in your budget of $1,500)

(Also, hooray for yellow gold! It’s my favorite as well.)

If you’re willing to go moissanite, you can definitely get something similar in your price range.
