I don’t think they have to match at all!  I know all the wedding magazines talk about how your invite “sets the tone” for the wedding, but I have never gone to a wedding and thought to myself– wow this wedding doesn’t look at all like the invitation.  If the colors are not the same, but you think it still fits you and your Fiance then go for it!

I LOVE stationary to an unhealthy level, but I still don’t think you need to worry about matching the colors if it’s a design, color, layout that you love.  Go for it!

If you love them, get them.  I love eclectic.

It depends on the bride and what is important to the couple. Your invitation does not have to match your wedding decor. Just like your Save the Dates does not have to be from the same invitation suite. It’s your day…do what makes you comfortable.

I used to have this weird idea that the invitation had to perfectly match everything.  Except I could not find an invitation that felt “right.”  Well, then my FH fell in LOVE with an invitation that I was just bleh about.  So, do I love our invitations?  No.  Do they totally match/set the scene for our wedding?  Not really.  Am I absolutely thrilled that my going with his choice I don’t have to think about this any more?  You betcha.

If you found something you love, go for it!  The best weddings I have ever been to are the ones where everything felt like the Bride and Groom, not the ones where everything was perfectly matched and magazine-worthy.

Meh. Who cares? If you like it and it’s you, go for it! Like MsTerrapin said…have you ever gone to a wedding and even thought about whether the invite matched the reception? (Although if you have…maybe you oughta go for the matching so you don’t make yourself crazy.)

I’ve never gone to a wedding and even remembered what the invitation looked like.  I’m hoping people have the same reaction when they show up at mine, because they don’t match at all 🙂  So I agree–go with what you love!
