I have the opposite problem – I want to plan but no one is interested. I am sorry that everyone is driving you crazy. You have to do this at your own pace. There is plenty of time to figure things out. Now is when you can do your research – pricing venues, interviewing officiants etc. You don’t have to make any decisions, just lay the ground work and get a feel for what is out there. Besides, if they push you to make a decision too soon, you will just up and change your mind later on anyway 🙂

I was in a similar situation!  I’m in med school right now and my fiance and I don’t have time to figure out exactly what we want.  My mom on the other hand was getting very excited about wedding stuff.  So, we booked a venue and then explained very carefully and respectfully that we do not want to think about all the other details until after our board exam (or in your case you could pick any arbitrary date).  We explained that after our boards, we’ll still have around 10 months to plan, which should be plenty (my sister planned hers in about 10 months time, why not us?).  We finally got our message through and my mom made us a funny “cease and desist” certificate, hahhaha!
