oh man I wish I could help you. Our family went to makinak every summer growing up when I lived in Wisconsin and it is such a beautiful place. I hope you get a chance to rent a bike and ride all the way around the island while you are there it is a must do. And eat LOTS of fudge of course.

I love Mackinac Island!!!  I’ve been there many times, I even worked as tennis pro for Grand Hotel one summer!  You don’t have to worry about booking your ferry tickets in advance, the ferries run all day long.  Though be sure to check the schedule for the date you’ll be there, because arrival & departure times do vary throughout the year & by day.  Sometimes they might have a late boat back to the island at 11pm, & other times they stop running at 5pm.  I prefer departing & arriving at the Mack City side.  I always used Arnold, but any of the 3 are fine.  The crossing takes less than 20 minutes.
