I chose the first option because I did get pregnant within about 8-12 months of NTNP. It ended in MC though. I guess I’m sort of lurking on this thread to lend any support I can. I don’t have experience with infertility, but I have experience with loss to the extent that’s relevant to understanding a little (but I know it’s not the same, and not trying to compare the two situations at all).

Darling Husband and I have been trying for 12 months at this point. I got my primary infertility diagonsis a few weeks ago and sobbed like a little baby.  I thought I’d have a trouble due to genetics, but it’s still been devastating.

I chose “infertile and achieved pregnancy with ART” (first baby) but if I could have chosen two options I would have also chosen “infertile and achieved pregnancy naturally” (second baby). My spouse has MFI and we needed IVF with ICSI for my daughter (2 rounds) but we somehow got pregnant naturally (complete shock) with number 2.

I chose ‘other’ as we were diagnosed with unexplained infertility, went through ART for about 2 years but were never successful. We are child free by circumstance.

anev :  Thanks!  I’ve been leaning on my sister a lot since she went through the same stuff.  Part of me thought it wouldn’t be hard for me, and part of me expected it.  I am fortunate to have an amazing support network IRL so haven’t turned to the WB group yet, but once I feel like I annoy them, I probably will 🙂

It took us 15 months to get pregnant with our first. We were diagnosed with unexplained infertility, but I had symptoms associated with endometriosis, so had an exploratory laparoscopy booked. We got pregnant the month before I was supposed to get the surgery.

I chose other. We were diagnosed with unexplained infertility and tried for 3 years. Got pregnant on our third round of IUI. We now have a beautiful baby boy!

anev :  That’s a good point, I think it’s really more “other” since picking the first implies a live birth in some sense.

My infertility journey is a bit weird. I was diagnosed with chronically anovulatory cycles and possible endometriosis before I was married and TTC. I was put in Metformin and dexamethasone and we started TTC after about 4-5 months on it. Successfully ovulated on cycle 9 and conceived my son on cycle 10 (6th cycle TTC). After he was born I was diagnosed with PCOS, endometriosis, luteal phase defect, and am again not ovulating consistently. I’ve also had two early miscarriages, probably a result of my LPD and PCOS. Waiting on my RE appointment now and will be TTC again soon once I can start treatment.

I chose other as it took 9 cycles to conceive which resulted in MC & a further 4 to get pregnant again which resulted in my son.  So it took me well over a year TTC before I finally had my baby. Although I had only began my investigations I have some thyroid issues. Which resulted in my having hypothyroidism for my pregnancy. Post pregnancy my TSH is normal again & my thyroid antibodies have lowered, although are still not within the normal range.

I have infertility. I’ve been trying for two and a half years now. I’ve had three failed IUI’s, surgery to remove endo, and I was on clomid/femara for 5 months. Nothing has worked yet. Currently saving for IVF.
