@TaurianDoll:  Ate feta all the time while pregnant. In the US, 99.9% of cheese are pasturized and totally fine. You only need to be careful if you’re eating fancy, specialty imported cheese or cheese made in-house in a restaurant. You can always ask if you’re unsure.

The concern with soft cheeses is listeria – a common problem with cheeses made from unpasteurized milk. That said, it’s safe if the feta cheese is made from pasteurized cheese (so, checking labels is important). That may be more difficult in restaurants…I’m a fan of feta cheese omelettes.

If it’s pasturized it’s no big deal. It should say on the package if it is or not. 🙂

I voted yes, but I’ll only eat it if it’s pasteurized!

I’ve eaten it a few times I just make sure it’s made in the US bc it has to be pasturized.

@TaurianDoll:  I ate spinach and feta pizza less than 12 weeks pregnant.

I ate Greek salad for Thanksgiving.

I ate Greek salad for Christmas.

I ate Greek salad yesterday for New Year’s.

As you can tell, I love Greek salad, and nothing makes it better than large chunks of feta cheese in it, lol.

Most cheese in America is pasturized, but honestly I didn’t check the packaging. Consider me living on the edge, but that small amount of feta probably won’t hurt me. As long as you have everything in moderation you will be just fine. I don’t advocate going against your doctor’s advice (mine told me to stay away from soft cheese) but she also said not to drive myself nuts if I have an oopsie or want something.

Yes, anything you buy in the store is pasteurized.  I’ve only eaten it a few times, but I actually eat blue cheese quite often.

I find most pregnancy food rules to be quite ridiculous honestly, but that’s just my opinion.  The only things I avoid are the big fishes (which I never eat anyway) and raw meats/fish.
