That’s tough. People get really tied up in their political beliefs. I’m sorry.

If this is really out of character for him, I’d try to let it go. People do get caught up in their emotions and right now he’s probably raw from losing the election (and by a lot more than republicans had thought). It sucks, it’s rude, and it’s unneccessary. But he’s also your Future Father-In-Law and this is out of the ordinary for him. Inhale deeply and turn the other cheek.

One of my FFILs said on FB earlier that the prediction was that Obama would win in the beginning and then all the republicans would get off work.

Yeah. Fiance and I do not talk about our political beliefs with his family so we don’t get into wars over sh*t like this.

@bearlove:  I agree. I doubt your Father-In-Law was specifically thinking of you when he posted that message. Just let it go because one general comment is not worth escalating into a family argument or confrontation.

Tomorrow (and the next day… and the one after that) will politically under Obama look exactly like yesterday did, last week, and 2 years ago.

These folks are hurting now… and EVERYONE (Republicans & Democrats alike) are stressed out by how UGLY this campaigning has been… seperating friends & families.

It’ll take a while to cool off… but it will.

It makes me sad that family and friends fight over politics. In the end we’re all gonna die and that’s the people we want most to be with us and the politics were not worth the anger.

@Chrysoberyl:  He’s just grumpy his guy lost. Let him sleep it off, and try not to be too offended.

I can’t begin to tell you the names I called people who voted for Bush the second time around. Politics can bring out the worst in people. They’re passionate about their views and opinions… I wouldn’t take what he says too personal at the moment.

@bearlove:  +1   but also, if you can’t live with turning a cheek, talk with FH let him discuss it with Future Father-In-Law since it’s his dad and not yours.
