Is there anyway you can help with or totally cover the cost of the ring?  It’s really not a smart idea for him to be making a large purchase like that when he has credit card debit and money is tight. I don’t think you want to go into an engagement knowing that purchasing the ring caused your fiance emotional and financial stress.

Ok, you guys need a night out.  If you have the money or if you just have to borrow a couple $$$s from some friends, why not go to Dave and Buster’s or Bowling, free concert, walk on the beach, etc.  Since we’re on a strict budget, we drive the Coast and chill near the ocean, make a date night when DB and others have discounted nights, go to free concerts(Doing that tomorrow), etc.   Anything to get out of the house and have fun.  Hell, if you have friends close by, have a Board Game Night.  Have everyone bring their fav game as well as some food/dessert/drink, and let the good times roll.  I love when my family get together for Karoke.

Also call the Credit Card companies and see if they will lower payments for 6 months.

I forgot to add, you can also do Movie Night.  Invite ppl over, have pizza and beer and watch movies.

Somthing else that you might want to consider is (in addition to sexy time) is a massage. I know that when I get down and stressed (for whatever reason) a good massage helps me let go and relax. It also helps me sleep a lot better which sounds like something your future husband could use.

All good suggestions.  What about a long walk and a picnic with wine/beer/whatever he likes.  Sometimes fresh air, a walk and being OUT of the house helps a ton.

@Mrs.ChubbyBunny:  Darling Husband is a huge movie buff so we will watch movies from his collection.  Its alot of fun regardless if we have friends over.

Sorry to hear your FH is bummed out. I think being so exhausted everything is probably hitting him a little harder, if he could get a few more zzz than his spirits might raise a bit.

The first thing I think you should be worried about is him dozing off at a stop sign. I’m not sure what the laws are in the US but technically driving while you are that tired is considered “impaired” and very dangerous. You mentioned that you are taking the class together in school? Is there anyway that you could drop FH off for work and pick him up and drive to class together? Not sure how long the ride is but he could catch a quick nap maybe during that time. Driving together could also save money on gas.

You can call your cell phone companies and sometimes downgrade your plan if there’s a ton of extras, maybe drop cable for a bit if you have it. Most shows can be viewed online on tv station sites, plus if you’re not home a lot together you probably don’t watch much anyway.

I love all the ideas everyone has already given for a good time. I find when my FH is stressed and having a hard time sleeping he finds me lightly scratching his back, forearms or scalp helps. To further the giving a massage you can look into pressure points online, you’d be surprised what that can do. I think just really enjoying the time together that you do have is also important, don’t spend this time discussing money issues if you can help it.

Anyway I hope you both all the best and I hope your FH gets that promotion he was promised!
