@peachbaby4008: Yup. We switched ours. Instead of having 8 months to plan, we got 2. It’s made decision making pretty easy!

It can definitely be done, I have friends and cousins who have planned weddings in 3, 4, and 5 months! Just be VERY organized- lists are your friend. And enlist help. πŸ™‚

Our engagement was six months to the day. I found that it was plenty of time, especially if you are planning a wedding for the off season: we had no problem getting the vendors we wanted. It’s also nice because you tend to just make decisions and stick with them, without having too much time to second guess.

I’ve had an 8 month engagement, though I haven’t been able to do anything wedding related for big chunks of time. I know people who got engaged in the spring and got married in the summer and pulled it off well.  You’ll be fine!

sure it can πŸ™‚ Just as long as you have sorted out your dress or do it ASAP as they take 5 – 6 months to get in. Happy planning!

Definitely…

I’m a very organised person so think it can be done. Ours will need to be done in 4 months πŸ™‚

Do it!!

I agree with all of the above!  You can definitely do it.  We have under 5 months to plan (our big day is 1/14/12, and yes, I think having it in January certainly helps as it is the least popular wedding month (aren’t we unique!).  The “short” timeframe also makes it easier for us indecisive brides– no time to look at a million options πŸ™‚ Good luck!

A friend did hers in 4 and you couldn’t tell at the wedding.  She got great deals on locations (but had to take a Sunday).  She did have one dress shop tell her they couldn’t order her a dress in time so she would just have to change her wedding date.  She opted for a different dress shop instead πŸ™‚
