There are no rules as to what you can wear as an engagement ring…as long as YOU love it and it’s sweet your fiance wants to buy you something himself 🙂 I say go for it!

Honestly, it’s not my taste. But as long as you LOVE it and as long as he will look at it on your finger and smile – that’s all that matters.

Not my taste & I wouldn’t want pearls as an e ring- too delicate.

@MadsTheGallifreyan:  If that’s what you want, then go for it. Just be careful about cleaning the pearls so you don’t damage them. The $500 price tag, depends on what he can afford. My e-ring only cost $539.

It’s an unusual choice for an engagement ring, but I would think that’s kind of the point if picking something unique like that. If you love it go for it.

@madsthegallifreyan , I love it! The only thing that worries me is the durability. Garnet is my birthstone and pearls are my favorite and have owned both in rings (mainly vintage)  and every time they end up damaged 🙁 if you work / are rough with your hands I would strongly suggest putting it on a necklace during those times to help with the wear and tear!!! Congrats!!!

Not my taste but if you like it thats all that matters. 🙂

Like others have said though, pearls are quite delicate. I got a BEAUTIFUL pearl for my 21st and it only comes out of the box on special occasions.

@MadsTheGallifreyan:  Beautiful! I love the detail on the metal, and hey, it’s lasted for over 150 years. That’s pretty awesome.

Love your username btw

I think it looks very cool and different, but I don’t know if it was made for everyday wear.  Not to say that you couldn’t do it, but I would be prepared to replace the pearls and garnets here and there if you do.
