This weekend my Fiance showed me his late mother’s eternity wedding band and asked if I would like to keep it and use it for my wedding band. I am completely honored and love the sentimental value of the ring. He told me I can reset it if I want but of course a huge part of me wants to keep it as is even though it’s not my typical taste..
Should I keep the integrity of the ring as it is? It just needs major resizing since I’m 3 sizes smaller than the ring. Or, do you think the sentimental value will be just as nice if I reset it? Here’s a picture of my engagement ring and the eternity band. Help! (I would be wearing them in seperate fingers)

3 sizes down will leave you with excess diamonds for earrings! its beautiful..either way it’s now yours..and VERY sweet that he did that.. love it!!

It’s beautiful! I wouldn’t change it one bit other than sizing it.

Oh BEE I would keep it as is for I don’t see how it could get any better than that ! Congrats and enjoy it <3

Aw thanks everyone! I’m just so anti metal so the extra on the sides is throwing me off a bit.. But there’s something really unique about it too so I’m tempted to just accept the added metal and keep it as is.
Hopefully the jeweller will be able to resize it properly! I’m a little concerned because it might even be 4 sizes too big and sometimes it can be really difficult to keep the shape when it has to be sized down that much. Fingers crossed! And thanks for all the ring love 🙂

I don’t know much about resizing, but that is one gorgeous ring!!

It’s very beautiful. I am really curious as to if it can be resized. My engagement ring was a 7. They could get it to a small 5 1/2, but wouldn’t go any smaller. I had to get sizing beads to keep it from spinning.

I don’t want to rain on your parade, but most eternity rings can’t be resized at all. The bending of the metal that would be necessary would damage the prong settings for the stones.
As you are looking to go down so many sizes, the most likely thing a jeweller would suggest would be completely resetting the stones into a new ring.
