I love RVA!  We have tons of restaurants, parks, good shopping, and there’s always some kind of food, wine, or music festival going on.  Congrats to your Fiance, MCV is tough to get into 🙂

I can message you about places to live/places to avoid.  Will you have transportation or do you need to live within walking distance of the school?  Do you have pets?

Congrats to him! What an amazing accomplishment! I work in a lab and have seen a ton of really qualified co-workers apply and get rejected to every single med school.. so getting in anywhere is such a huge feat! I’m sure you’ll find a great place to live regardless of where you end up.

I love Richmond. We live about an hour and a half from there  and visit often since DHs grandmother and some aunts/uncles live there. They live in Midlothian, which is a suburb of Richmond. I’ve never heard of Richmond having problems with crime. No more than any other city at least!

And Congrats to your FI!

I live in (and love) Richmond! While a couple years ago it wasn’t the safest of places, they’ve really turned that around. I’ve been here 5 years and haven’t had any problems.

Richmond is a really unique city, in that it’s big enough to be a city but it feels like a small town, if that makes sense. There’s a million things to do here, and it’s very diverse. Everyone fits in here..I hope you love it as much as I do!

I also LOVE Richmond.  I grew up and went to college an hour from it and spent quite a few weekends driving up for the restaurants and bars– and some pretty good bands come through! (I’ve also gotten two of my tattoos there, if you’re into that.)  It’s definitely a young city (in my opinion)– lots of 20-somes in school or working there.
