Hi Bee’s –
If any of you remember in the last 6 months my Fiance has had TWO job losses(he was a contracter so never fired) totaling 7 different jobs in 3 years. Here’s the board I posted: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/my-fi-has-had-7-different-jobs-in-3-years#axzz2o2mNDeHG
The constant transition was overwhelming for me. It always felt like as soon as we were back on our feet, he’d be out of yet another contract. It started to become emotionally taxing on the both of us and we certainly had our share of good days and bad days.
My FI’s last day on his contract was today, and we both thought it was pretty shitty to let him go right before Christmas, but what can you do?
He had been interviewing for an associate level job at a fortune 500 as a product analyst for the past two weeks. When he intially got the interview, I didn’t even want to allow myself to get even slightly excited because for 3 years he has never been offered a permanent job.
Around lunch time he turned in his work computer and ID and said goodbye to his time. Just minutes later after 4 different interviews with different team members, he got an email that they would like to offer him the job!!!!!! He read the email on his phone and he said his hand started shaking. We are BOTH so overwhelmed with pure joy! This is defintely the ultimate Christmas gift!
Thank you to all the Bee’s who helped me cope during the down times. We aren’t sharing with any of family members until we get home on Christmas eve. We are going to dinner to celebrate!

@brooke25: so true! I see that you are a Canada Bee. My Fiance and I are spending new years and a few days before in Toronto, any suggestions on places we should visit?

@Meant2Bee: I am indeed! I was born and raised in Toronto. But now live in Newfoundland 🙂
things to do- let’s see: CN tower is a great touristy spot! The St. Lawrence market is really awesome too if you like flea markets (I don’t know if I’d call it a flew market really, it’s got artesian cheeses, wine, tea, basically everything) I’d assume you guys will spend time downtown-queen street west is great for shopping! Downtown is pretty awesome for finding hole in the wall restaurants that are fantastic. My Fiance and I would always hop on the subway and just roam till we found a place to eat. I love the bier market though! If you guys like skating you can skate on this huge outdoor rink by city hall (you can rent skates, no worries on that) niagra falls has lots of stuff to do, but that’s like 1 t-2 hrs outside of Toronto.
If I think of anything else I’ll let you know 🙂
