@slicey19:  Ooh, good call on Kohls. Their clothing styles have really improved over the past few years and they are very reasonable, especially if you have their coupons.

You HAVE to go get him some clothes… he cannot wear this.

Goodwill is a great suggestion to the PP’s who suggested that. Yeah he needs something. Just a pair of pants and a button down. He needs to look professional. If he doesn’t he will not be taken seriously as an actual professional.

@xstine515:  You can also save $$ at Kohls if you open a credit card, but don’t do that unless you are really really good w/ credit cards and can pay it off 100% .

Is there anyone you know that he may be able to borrow some clothes from?

If not, I would check goodwill, ross, marshalls.  You can possibly return the clothes after the interview if money is that tight.

HE NEEDS INTERVIEW APPROPRIATE CLOTHES! Definitely don’t let him go in this. Do whatever you have to go at least get him a nice shirt, tie and pants. Really, though, he should have a suit!! Good luck!

I’m just going to chime in with other bees that he needs an interview suit or something similar!  If this were me I’d have to put it on a credit card or I guess dip into rent or something.  He has absolutely no chance at the job dressed like that.

He needs a suit asap – walmart sells them for pretty cheap.  It is an investment – trust me he won’t be getting any jobs without the clothes!

My old teacher once got denied a principle position because he wore a cream colored suit instead of a black one. This will really be a strike against him if he wears this. Goodwill has amazing dress clothes for really cheap. It could be the difference of getting the job or not.

First option, can he borrow a dress shirt and pants?

Second option, go to Value Village/Goodwill asap. Buy some Febreze or dryer sheets and throw the shirts and new pants in the dryer quickly cause there won’t be time to wash them and give a quick iron.

Third option, go to whatever store buy dress pants and shirt and return it tonight after his interview.

I would not go to any job interview if I were a male if I wasn’t wearing a collared shirt.

He looks much better though the shirt should be ironed if possible. Good luck on the interview!

Make sure that he irons the shirt!  What color are the pants? If they are brown, then brown dress shoes are okay but if they are any other color, black would be better.

Much much better! Maybe a sports coat? You can sometimes get them at the thrift store for like ten dollars. Even without it, I think it’s ok for an interview.

Definitely iron the shirt, and if those pants are black, I would go with black shoes.  And I doubt you have time to get the rest of the “suit” today, but I would make sure he has a full suit for future interviews.
